It was actually the last time I bought any Penfolds.
Only need one or two good bargains a year to stock up, put in storage and forget about them for a decade.

Edit: I believe there were some 50% clearance sales this year for 389 & 407 at BWS stores in NSW.

Wasn't the CM deal using Groupon $100 Vouchers for $10? Thing of the past never to be seen again - I bought 18 botts 2013 St Henri for $38 on one of those deals 1 - 2 years back - dream on if you think that will happen again - or maybe it will.

Clearance items at BWS in NSW? Surely might have been but it's kinda bit rich to quote these types of one off opps as indicative pricing which I kinda think the OP was getting at.

What's a fair price to pay for Pommery NV? Ya can't say $25 where many of us secured them on a mistake price

What is a good price for Penfolds 389? Wanted to get some but looking to hold off until the right deal comes along.

A good price is whatever you are prepared to pay on the day to secure the deal - never pay list price - deals will come and go - discounts will appear and disappear - jump on something when you think it is fair value.

IIRC there was a CM twin pack that they had accidently advertised as a single bottle which is why I have more Penfolds in my cellar than I will drink over the next 10 years.

Or maybe that was the St.Henri...

Trouble with Penfolds is I don't drink much of it, but I feel some uncontrolable compulsion to buy it when it's on sale.

This is my most recent purchase of 389.

Obviously not the cheapest at ~$72ish pb before 10% cashback. But current vintage, no limitations on purchase and delivered. It's the best pricing I've seen for the 2018 so far.

This is the best I've seen recently, it was fortuitous for me as I was near a store a long way from home, should be good to go come Christmas 2030

Nice. I've never even tried a Bin 389

Closest I've come is picking up a dozen of the Bin 150 on Dan clearance for $28.5 each

Oh wow. I haven't seen that 389 price in Vic since I bought it 12 years ago for around$55.

Yep I nabbed a great deal last time, got 3 bottles of 2015 Jack Mann for $47 pb final price. They were $62 shelf price, less $20 for the >$150, less $25 shopback.

Actually the BWS ShopBack was 20% up to $25, even better than I remembered (edited my previous post).

I grabbed x2 Teusner Righteous FG 2014.
$150 full price, $75 after discount, $52.5 final price

(can’t help but laughing at this ridiculous discount)
It got 97pts from my favourite wine critic Sam Kim.
If you haven’t guessed by now it’s Curtis Martins Vineyard.

Edit: I hope no one gets tricked into buying thinking this is a genuine discount. Even at $34.98 it’s still overpriced IMO
