Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Some times I drink 3 bottles a week in Cov19 period. This week I start to ride to the office. I try to control to only drink 1 bottle in the weekend like before.
I gained 5 kg already.

Today walk in a LL near my office. Saw this. It starts from 14/10, I missed it.

And me I feel terrible...
No need to feel terrible.
Just opportunity to reposition yourself if you think that’s what you need to do.
If you don’t think you need to reposition then don’t fell terrible.😁
No judgement here - not from me anyway!!!!😁

No judgement from any of us. Dont feel terrible just think of your contribution to the economy and besides you are keeping up your healthy diet by consuming grapes. 😁

Non deal related, but recently my old man said he was worried by how much wine I consume. just trying to get an idea How many Bottles do you guys drink on average each week?
I would normally drink a bottle to a bottle and a half a week I think.
COVID saw me drink more regularly but not more per sitting.
I have dialed that back now.

But... there are nights and weekends when more is consumed like tonight. 2 glasses of Angulong Vermintino which is delicious followed by three glasses of the Wynns 2012 Shiraz recommended on this thread. I just couldn’t leave it alone.

Tomorrow night I have friends coming to share in the Seppelt’s Chalambar vertical recommended on this thread. I think it may be like tonight in terms of consumption.
Thanks so much to all who have introduced me to great wine at even better prices. 😁😁😁
Appreciate it so much👍

No judgement here. I started exercising 6 months ago and cut down on weeknight drinking. I used to belt 5 bottles a week. Alcohol just takes the edge off life.

I’ve always exercised so that’s ok, I have crept from 2-3 bottles per week to 4-5, and ever since the failed dry July I said I’ll start reducing next month. The main issue is that the bargains over the past six months are so tasty, like the 2018 Head Readhead that I have almost finished already tonight....

M3s also on the chopping block at certain shops.

unfortunately seems none in Melbourne :(

i'll just have to console myself with the cases of 2018 from Dan's last year for $10, not to mention the 2012-2017 vintages found as well :)

Pipers Brook Chardonnay is also available on clearance at BWS

now only 20 packs left, $34.83 delivered, every vintage of The Redhead has been rated 95/96pts by Gary Walsh and Jeremy Oliver :)
Received today. 2017 vintage.

Gary Walsh just posted his brief note of the 2017 Head The Redhead on Winefront. He gave it 93 points
Mine arrived today, I got the 2018. Tempted to open one tonight just to try.

interesting, well done on the 2018 - wonder if they oversold the 2017 and so fulfilled the remaining orders with 2018?

GW, JO, JH:
2017: 93, 95, 93
2018: 95+, 96, 97

Halliday gave it 97 points and the 2017 he gave 93 points. Strange to have a 4 point difference on a vintage that has only been released 4 times thus far

why strange? that's vintage variation for you :)

And how was it?
I’m very pleased. This may sound strange but I’ve always said that the first mouthful of a really good wine tastes a bit like water. It’s very smooth, has fruit and just a bit of spice, and then lingers. It’s not too young to drink now, but clearly will be very good in a few more years.

Thanks for the review, I am still waiting for mine to arrive.

I try to limit my stock, but tonight I pick another 2 bottles T'Gallant Prosecco $5, it still has around 6 bottles in Kings Langley LL. 2weeks ago I saw bystander innocent Pinot $10, I don't like it so I didn't buy, today they are all gone.

Winston Hill bws has House of Arras Brut Elite Chardonnay Pinot Noir $31, it can wait for another high rate case reward. I pick 1 bottle of piper brook sparkling 15 $16(after cash reward). I saw some of bws in Sydney has Italian wine on sale.

May be it has been mentioned before. if you are a Woolworths group employee, you can have 30% off on all Pinnacle wines in DM. you can borrow your friends card to purchase, even online. Terra Rossa estate is Pinnacle, nearly half of Italian is Pinnacle.

I worked for DM for 6 months couple years ago. They forgot to remove my name from dm membership card, now I still have 30% discount on Pinnacle. lucky.

Not another Clarendon Hills deal!
It's back at Langtons.
2012 Clarendon Clarendon Grenache at$25/btl for 6 pack. Cheaper than gwd.
JH scoring and price and date all matches.
I bought it previously at the same price - but I haven't tasted it.
I have tasted the older vintage which I really liked.
