Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Wasn't this at Winestar too? Maybe that's a different bottle.

It's definitely good wine, my brother is interested and messaged a mate to see if we can grab 2 each.

I have to stop buying expensive wine, it'll just sit in the cellar for 20 years ☺️
Looks like this offer is now being offered 3 min (from 6 min) on WineStar website.

I am really at a loss to understand the RRP pricing. I have had an earlier vintage when it was given as a bonus bottle by WineDirect and it is a nice wine but I would never pay $100 let alone RRP for it. Especially when you can grab 2018 Bin 389 for less than that. YMMV of course!

What is IMCAC?
Shipping cost is $7 for me as no pickup available local DM.
Wait for better offer.

Kemenys Secret Label Reserve Clare Valley Shiraz 2018 (KSL 5711) $50 reduced to $27.95 appears to be Claymore Wines Shiraz Nirvana

Not sure about the $50 price tag, Summer Hill Wine Shop have it available in any six for $36. Decent scores on Cellartracker and Vivino is a small plus
I bought a few of the Claymore “Dark Side of the Moon” Shiraz from Kemenys not too long ago. About $10 each (secret label) and I found it above average. Very drinkable.

Tempted to try this, given it’s their premium range.

Sent you an PM.
Thank you for the heads up!

2018 Bin 389 is $74.95 at my local, is that a good price? It seems $20-30 less than everywhere else online.

Hi, I replied to your PM. I think $75 is an OK price. Sometimes with cashbacks it is possible to get it cheaper. 2018 vintage is meant to be a superb example of Bin 389 from what I have heard but being patient yet to try mine.

Thanks!

My brother still wants to buy the other one, so what I'll do is actually wait for a good CB with Dan's and grab some Bin if they do 15% CB soon!

I think Dan's having it at $75 as they are matching Vintage Cellar's offer, likely to end by tomorrow. It could be back to normal price usually 80-90 once those offer cease and Dan would stop matching them.

Shopback is having 15% cashback for Dans purchases but Bin 389 is back to $85

Gee Shopback is kind of misleading. In the table its 15% for Under Wraps only but then they have offers like the screenshot below which leads you to believe its not only just Under Wraps products. How many ppl will get caught out by that?

Yeh, if they say "up to 15%" they have no exposure. If it tracks but Dan's doesn't pay them they won't pay up anyway. Even if it does track and ends up being approved it takes a long time before you can withdraw the cash.

You can't rely on the shopback rebate to make the deal worthwhile. Shopback is a very disingenuous business IMO.

Agree. I recently had a Shopback cashback rejected after 1-2 months, and the only thing they said was that the vendor rejected it so there's nothing they could do. On the other hand, Cashrewards sent me a similar email, but they said they would still give the cashback out of pocket.

My standard practice is now to take screenshots, particularly of upgraded offers / purchases and make it very clear that non payment is BS. Seems to work, or at least get a compensation payment close to the amount.
But, the time involved takes away from the cashback benefit - particularly now most are capped

I'll have to agree. ShopBack is a hit and miss and their customer service is not nearly as good as Cashrewards which btw agreed to pay even when cashback was not approved by suppliers.

Sounds like two very different wines but let’s assume they retail at $85 (Yeoman after 15% cashback). Both received 97pts from JH, 389 got 4.3 while Yeoman 4.6 on Vivino so we can assume it’s good wine. In terms of value as you said YMMV, I wouldn’t pay $100 or even $85 for 389 as there is better value elsewhere IMO. Didn’t try Bec Hardy’s wine yet but this one sounds like a monster Shiraz, maybe more similar to Grant Burge Meshach than Penfolds 389.

They sure are very different wines with 389 Cab Sav component giving it such great and structured finish. I can only go by my own experiences, I had a look yesterday and the Yeoman that I had was 2014 vintage - still have one bottle left curtesy of WineDirect bonus. Personally I would not call it a monster Shiraz but it is a very nice wine. Me and my mate with whom I had a pleasure drinking this (we split a case from WineDirect and shared the bonus bottle of The Yeoman at a BYO) came to the same conclusion re its worth. YMMV as per usual.

PS it is a very impressive looking bottle with wax enclosure and bling etc... and quite heavy - I surely wouldn't want to get hit in the head with that!

I do rely on cashback as the difference between buying and not. Every time I've challenged shopback not tracking (three times now), I state this and they've always credited it (including when they've said the retailer rejected it). I've not ever had to challenge CB as it has always tracked. So I'm ok with both and just go for the highest discount.

I plan to get some under wraps along with regular stuff so I am not sure whether SB will track accordingly in a single order. Has anyone put in a mixed order today?

I ordered the Secret Deal $600, and received like $90 CB.

Because I bought bottles for my brother, and his mate. I basically paid $110 for 2 😂😂😂

I never including CB in prices, as it doesn't track sometimes and TBH I got lucky with the bonus CB today as I was meant to order last night.

It's back up now, I guess I'll be waiting for $75 again.
Shopback has DM 15% rebate cap at $50 ONLY for underwraps wines.
I received $90, no cap but maybe they'll adjust. I checked the conditions and nowhere could I find information regarding a cap.

Yup, cant win.

Ordered and tracked within half an HR.

In-regards to people's issues with tracking, I must admit I placed an order and then returned it via a large Wine business which regularly does 40% CB and my CB tracked and paid $130+.

I was expecting it to be cancelled, however 5 weeks later it's paid in full. I do feel bad, and I cancelled the order because the original tracking didn't track and I wasn't going to wait for CB to be investigated.
