There are MV3A The Album Reserve Shiraz 2018 $80 in the list, I picked up the last 4 in NSW.
I had MV3A on Saturday and was disappointed. Not sure if it was a compromised bottle or my taste evolved/changed from the last time (over a year ago) when I had it but it felt disbalanced to me, lacking acidity, sour and overly extracted.

I also went through my purchases and saw that I bought 4 bottles and found the original link
(I did pay $35 and remember consuming 2 bottles - not sure what happened to my last!)

I think this is the serafino goose island? Anyone tried it

Cellar one is offering $25 off three selected packs at the moment. The shiraz pack seems like pretty good value:

2018 Grant Burge Filsell Shiraz (cork)

GOLD MEDAL - 2020 Royal Adelaide

96 POINTS - Andrew Caillard

2018 St Hallett Blackwell Shiraz (cork)

96 GOLD POINTS - James Halliday

95 POINTS - Andrew Caillard

St Hallett Butcher's Cart Shiraz

I too would think it good value, other than for the prices a number of these have wines have been available for over the past 12 months.

Failed export. $100 for 6, $180 for 12

Btw auction fees are ridiculous, 16.5% for seller plus they charge the buyers premium 15%? It makes eBay look like a guardian angel.

For Langtons?

I think its OK for a seller as they take care of the end-to-end include shipping and help the buyer verify authenticity of the bottle.

For the buyer it will be factored into how much they bid

Grays.

I just feel they're ripping off both parties, I understand 15% fee but stinging both parties would be like eBay charging bidders a buyer's fee too.

I just sold some wine on Langtons and the process was quite good (albeit slow - no doubt impacted by Covid). They charge a similar fee to Grays but I notice that buyers tend to bid a bit higher on Langtons

I think for nicer wines, I watched some Sunday and it was hit & miss

I think just selling volume wines which I need to palm off, unfortunately something that's $20 you only get $8 for. If it's better quality maybe you get $15 excluding fees.

If I had nicer wine to offload, I'd probably try my family/friends before auction.

Just be aware that Helen and Joey are owned by <foreign> companies. It may matter to some.

It's a shame because I really enjoy their wines

Volume wines are never really designed to be resold. It would make absolutely no sense for a larger organisation with a liquor license to resell volume wines when they could probably buy the same wines at wholesale for around the same price anyway, and not have to deal with a member of the general public selling it. And as you would know, a $20 wine can often be found by members of the general public for $8 anyway.

Nicer wines can also be sold to some restaurants, especially harder to find wines.

This is a generalisation but people who are buying wine at auction aren't typically looking to buy $10-$15 cheapies. If you don't want to drink them there's a fair chance other people don't want to either.

Also, there is a bit of work involved in collating and presenting all the wines for sale at auction so 15% is pretty fair IMO. They need to pay people to do this and the $1.50 fee on a $10 wine isn't really moving the needle for them.

A few of the auction houses also have limits on the number of cases you can ship for sale at any one time too so it might take you a while to clear it. I think Langtons was 4 dozen max. at a time from memory.
