Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

No idea how good any of these wines are or how the Liquorland prices stack up against the rest but might be of use to some. $100 spend before cashback = free delivery.

A warning re Grays online.

I’ve made over 50 purchases, all via auction. The only issue I’ve ever had was slow delivery.

Last week I won an auction and got the email telling me that my credit card would be automatically debited. This is the same process as for every other purchase I’ve made.

However turns out Grays never debited my credit card and 6 days later they sent me an SMS telling me that the invoice was unpaid and that they were adding a $30 ‘late fee’ as I didn’t pay on time (original invoice price was for $60). I tried to call them. No answer. Couldn’t find an email address so I sent them a message on Facebook. No reply. They then debited my credit card without my permission for the full invoice plus the additional $30 fee. Seems a great way to scam people out of an extra $30!

All of this is contrary to their terms:

'What happens if payment is not received?

Our accounts team will contact you via email and request payment be made as soon as possible. If payment is not received, the sale may be cancelled, and you may be charged a cancellation fee representing 20% of the invoice amount being charged.'

They have subsequently responded via Facebook and claim they are ‘looking into it’.

But given they never contacted me at all before the 6 days to tell me there may be a problem with my invoice not being paid and then automatically adding $30 to the invoice and my credit card now ‘magically’ works for them, I say be very alert to any transaction you have with Grays.

UPDATE: Message from Grays this morning telling me they have escalated the matter and have requested that the $30 be refunded. Even if/when this occurs the experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. Galling for any business to think that they can act this way by default.

I haven't had this issue, but have had several deliveries of the wrong wine.
You can make contact via this page https://support.grays.com/hc/en-au/requests/new

The interaction then continues by email and while the process is slow the support people are quite helpful and it's usually the same support person who follows through to resolution of the issue.

Not the first time for Grays to do this.

d'Arenberg Coppermine Road is my guess.

If buying, heed my earlier warning:

If I was having a guess the description and JF score rating matches 2019 giant steps Harry’s Monster. Same varietal blend as well.
Well played - description on langtons and winecompanion both refer to 'finely chiselled tannins'. As much as I love a nice cab blend, $35/btl is rather too expensive for that one.

I picked it up for $20 at the sale last Thursday.
It is often available on the monthly Langton's sale for low $20's, was $20 in the sale Thursday last week.
Yep, that's more like it. I think I saw that and still decided no. I already have a bit but am cellaring so haven't tasted and no idea how much I want to assemble any kind of vertical profile. I suppose I should dive in and try it... I hear some rate it.
