Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Dans currently has Mt Langi Ghiran Langi Shiraz 2004 for $100 a bottle. I have never tried it, but I know it gets rated by many. What are people's thoughts - would the 2004 be past its best, or does the Langi last forever? Halliday says drink by 2020, as does Gary Walsh...

As a lover of SA Shiraz and reds style in general, the Mt Langi is one of my favourite Vic reds and is a great drop indeed. I'm pretty sure the 2004 is not going to get any better, but I'd imagine it would still be good. At $100 a clip, I'd say there is better value found elsewhere though.

Thanks - yeah, no bargain but I thought it could be reasonable value for an aged high quality wine if it still had some legs in it (particularly given the RRP of current releases is just under $200 nowadays).

Looks like the Wine Collective increased their referral rewards from $20 to $50. Do you guys have any idea that the eligibility of minimum spend $100 excluding the $50 off their first order or not?

Prices a bit inflated but with 30% off today can find a few nice wines at about 10% below what you’d pay elsewhere.

Can roll the dice and wait to tomorrow for 40% off but the best stuff tends to go quickly

Reynella Basket Press Shiraz 2017 $25 in a 6 @ Cellar One.

CS also heavily reduced.
Had a couple of 2017 Reynella Shiraz and found it too thin and lackluster. Medium finish at best and I ended up selling them. Maybe it was the year or maybe I was unlucky with my batch, however it wasn't a patch on their previous vintages.

Thanks OW, always good to get a fellow punter's impression, it might be complete conjecture but I'm beginning to wonder whether 2017 was as good as 2016 as I've had a number of mediocre reds from 2017 that I've had to send back...
