Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

thanks- it is my first time to make a carpe diem on time and have got a nice mixed dozen. Some great prices. But yea- $18.50 for shipping which comes up as free at checkout, but then you get hit aafterwards.

I almost grabbed the Haut-Bailly II, but I'm not sure whether it is a half bottle, given the mentioned RRP? Still probably an ok buy (equivalent to $70 a bottle).

Here is the listing for the half bottle:

The Langtons shipping ($18.50) almost kills the deals for me...

This is the one i was looking at but OOS

Also my first carpe diem, picked up some Turkey flat , parker, MR Chardonnays and some French for a punt. Also don't like the shipping.

My nearest Dans has Redman Cabernet 2021 for $20.24 in a 6 (after gift cards). But it only seems like select stores have this price (and it is not advertised as a special).

Similarly, another nearby Dans has Coldstream Hills pinot for $18.34 in a 6 (after gift cards). Again, it only seems like select stores have this price, and it is not advertised as a special.

While grabbing some Redman from Dans, I also grabbed a bottle of Majella Cabernet 2020 (which is currently $28.50 after gift cards). I highly recommend it - it has a lovely aroma, is medium bodied with lots of juicy berries, great length. Tbh I opened it way too early - it will last many years, and will probably be at its best around 2030. But it compared very favourably to a bottle of Frankland Estate Cab 2021 which I had earlier in the week, which I found disappointing - thin, watery and without structure.

I love that stuff, and it's good value imho at about $25-28. Others on this forum less keen on it. It's possible it's not quite the really excellent drop it was 10 years ago but I have it semiregularly and it always impresses.

Hi guys, I have just come across this Bionics XVIII Shiraz NSW wine.
I have never heard of this before, but is it really $900 a bottle? Whereas their next Shiraz is about $50.
Is this another China wine or only marketed overseas?
Also I google it, no shops sells this but Langton's and Wickman has sold this in auction.
Surely you guys would have come across this wine?

Made for China. Cellar tracker only gives 88 points which tells me enough.

I’ve had this wine in 2021, same vintage. A friend had been gifted it and at the time the winery was selling it for $500. In fairness it had fantastic fruit and was a well structured wine but was it worth $500? Certainly not. $80-$100 maybe more like it.

Yes, I heard it's a well-made wine. I supposed I was wondering where the premium pricing is from. (Purposely inflated or super rare or cult wine) As I have never heard of this brand. interestingly, those who had this wine has all been gifted.
