David Jones: AMEX to Latitude

Personally, I’d raise the Rewards Point dispute form on Latitudes online support. I’ve already done this and it’s a two day turnaround for a response. Easier than dealing with their contact centre (from experience with other cards in the past from Latitude)

If the link above doesn’t work it’s under the “What should I do if I need to dispute my loyalty points earned or redeemed?” heading on the page below

Did you get your rewards points issue resolved in the end?

If it’s not because I’ve racked up a lot of points I would have cancelled the card asap. I just need to transfer all my points out once they get their cough together.

does anyone know what happens to paid annual fees on old DJ cards?
Great question. I paid $99 for my annual fee just a few months ago, in March. Surely we should receive a pro rata refund from Amex dating from the date of the card cancellation. I will contact them now, and report back here. Anyone else had any success asking for a refund?

Just to note that I actually didn't transfer to Latitude. I stayed with Amex, requested to change to a Platinum Edge in May. Very happy I did that after reading the chaos which others are going through with Latitude (sorry to hear this). But still, I assume that I should receive a pro rata refund of the DJs card since the Platinum Edge is a whole new card with a new yearly fee (free for the first year, but still).

Do we have confirmation what the new Airline partners are and the conversion rates?

New airline partner
We are currently in discussions regarding Airline partners. In the meantime, you can continue earning points and enjoying the benefits of the David Jones credit card.

You can use the poor phone call as your evidence of trying to resolve the problem, lodge an afca dispite and get a few hundred $ in extra compensation on top of the points I’d say.

I have had absolutely no issues setting up the new card today but agree I am not sure if I will keep it for $99pa. And honestly what I liked was having an Amex (concert pre-sales etc.) I completely missed the boat to take up an offer with Amex earlier in the year - any tips on the best Amex? I don't use it much (use my Qantas points accruing Visa card mostly) but something with Q points would be great (though don't think can get any sign on bonus points as I am a previous Amex holder). Thanks!

Mrs Pineapple has binned her AMEX DJs card and ignored latitude's offering, while I've had an AMEX Qantas Ultimate card for years. The usual benefits and sign on bonus for nex AMEX cardholders, but I find the value in the $450 travel credit (Qantas flights only, booked through AMEX travel) a nice setoff to the $450 annual fee.

I have the same QF Amex Ultimate Card and I like it. The flight credit is great, makes the card effectively no-fee if you use the credit for a weekend getaway somewhere that you might not ordinarily do.

Mrs Pineapple rang latitude so she could pay out her AMEX balance without activating. First call endless wait time, selected 1 for a call back real soon now and real soon never came. Second call she got an account no (differs from the card no) and the balance to pay out. The line was sh!te. Account paid, hopefully end of story.

I forgot to change my card over while I was overseas . The points came as suppose to 1:1. I was waiting for a bonus to transfer the amex to QR but never came thru. Now I have 500k sitting in latitude and don't know what to do with them , any ideas?

Does anyone know if I can Get a statement and pay this off at the PO. I can with the 28 degrees card which helps.

Post Billpay is an option
Mind you, paper statements are $3.

Would anyone have the transfer ratios for airline partners using the DJs Amex cards so the conversion rates can be checked once Latitude gets their act together with the airline partners?

I'm probably going to regret looking into this card as just reading this thread has set me up to expect poor service - though I made it work with Citi so Latitude shouldn't be much harder.

Where can we find the list of prospective airlines which are transfer partners? I'm not fan of Velocity anymore as a recently bankrupt airline. QF points are very easy to come by so much so that they might replace our currency one day if we're not careful. Which others are there?

KrisFlyer was the one I had used and I'm pretty sure Etihad was also a partner. The transfer rates to my recollection were between 2.5 - 3 Membership Rewards points to Airline partners.

I've taken the plunge on Latitude DJS today. Interested to see how it goes. They've given me a very puny credit limit - apparently I can apply for an increase after 3 months of good behaviour. Amex charge chard is so much simpler - even though they need financial information and will only approve a high fixed credit limit for a year. We'll see how we go with DJS Latitude and I'll report back.

Any visibility yet on Airline Transfer partners? I'm guessing I'll get clearer on that once I get my card and sign up pack.

Tried to get into the 'points hub'. After entering the one time PIN, I was met with "The login information you entered does not match our records".

Another fail Latitude.

I've had that. Tried again 5 minutes later and it worked. Probably explains their lovely 'intermittent issue' banner!
