Dear Virgin ... No more beef wraps please!

Just found that they are 18'' - 3.5'' less than Qantas skybeds, so a bit tight in comparison! However, it probably isn't fair on my behalf to compare domestic seats with international.

Remember these are a short term though and either way A330 J has received some great reviews!

I'm not sure what the QF domestic J seat widths are as a better comparison.

The VA 737 J seats didn't feel squashy.

Seatguru lists 20-21.5 Inches as their figure, but how reliable that is I am not sure.

Having sat in both the new DJ seats and the QF Millenium; the QF seats are indeed wider.

An interesting sense I get in the DJ seats is like driving in a bog standard car. There are blanks here and there just telling you that on a better spec'ed model there would have been interesting things instead of the blank.

The 'worst' is where there's a 'blank' at the perfect location for and size needed of a power supply socket. :-|

Isn't that TR a sign of the times.........or is my memory fading . That J meal seems almost identical to the Y meals we use to get back in the Ansett/Qantas duopoly days. Mind you, we were paying the equivilent of J fares for Y seats under the duopoly anyway, so I guess this is not a complaint, just an observation.

Those J seats look quite a lot narrower than the J seats on the BSI and refit 800s. Am I imagining that? The BSI Js were ample width for my ample waistline and more than suitable for short haul J (IMHO). I haven't tried the A330 Js though, so I can't compare.

Well funny enough, I can now report that I was not served a wrap on the 3pm MEL-SYD today.

I and all other flexi fare pax received a ham cheese and tomato sandwich. I also got a complimentary soft drink, which now has been included in the flexi fare.

The H/cheese deluxe is offered for flights departing between 930am - 4pm
The wrap is now in the inclusion for flights scheduled to depart after 4pm
Non alcoholic drink off the menu is on request only

lol

yes brisvegas i agree, virgin needs more variety :)

Seems different flights repeat different snacks
i have had the sandwich last 6 flights
i would love a beef wrap
yesterday on a syd ool flight i had a revolting really thin insidid looking mediterranean wrap (iron deficiency for the day)

And as for those tortilaa like things in the lounge of late ,absolutely tasteless.

No sure if it's been posted elsewhere here, but the Breakfast Flexi meal seems to have changed (Not sure when - don't fly Flexi mornings very often). Last time it was a wrap.

Mine this morning contained:
Apple Strudel. (Ok, a little uninspiring though).
A tub of Goulbourne Valley Pear pieces in a pomerate and blueberry juice.
Brookfarm bar w.macadamia and cranberries. (Gluten free).

Re: Dear Virgin ... the new flex breakfast is disgusting

Apple and guava mush...revolting
A sticky apple pastry ,crumbly pastry ,dry and revolting

How about a savory option rather than this american style sugar cough

Luke mangan get it together man

As for grated carrot in a sandwich....thats a no no

Unfort I fly weekly, the purchase optionmenus dont change enough for a regular flyer

Grated carrot in a sanger is the best, but can be very messy when eating it in an airline seat.

Re: Dear Virgin ... the new flex breakfast is disgusting

I had 4 flexi flights last week, and was offered the beef wrap on each flight with the ashgrove cheddar cheese and two crackers. After the 2nd one, I started giving them to the passenger next to me.

Does the menu change? I had the same wraps a few weeks ago (albeit the same routes MEL - SYD - OOL - BNE).
