And now you find your previous good credit record is blemished with a credit application refusal :evil:.
Not necessarily. I was refused by ANZ a few years ago and now I have an ANZ credit card plus a whole lot of other additions since then....

althoug I don't believe the result of an application appears on anything (maybe as a question on some applications)

Australia doesn't have credit ratings ( unlilke the US / UK for example ) and is no blemish to an Australian credit record. It will list that an application for credit was made, but no details of success or failure of the application is recorded

If applying for credit elsewhere, they will see that a credit application took place , that's all. If there are a number of them, then this might cause concern to a credit assessment, but in itself it is of no issue

I recently applied for a personal diners and was declined :shock:

I have an A1 credit rating (recently checked)
Earn a reasonable 6 figures, >150K
Own presently about 40% of my house
Have had a personal liability company diners in the past
A few debts totalling 35K

Mrs! salary takes us well over 200K

I was shocked - I also got no answer from diners as to why the decline...

Mr!

:shock::shock::shock:

Not quite in the illustrious financial position of yourself but I had a personal liability corporate Diners card for 6 1/2 years and changed jobs to a higher salary (in fact based on Diners' info my salary would have over doubled since the initial card application) and was a refused a personal diners card :(

There seems to be no logic to the system...

Criteria for issuing a corporate care are quite different to the criteria for issuing a personal card even if the corporate one has personal liability
