Delta Comfort Plus SC earn with VA

It is. First class on DL is often an even better deal for SC's.
Yes but in this case it cost $30 to upgrade to Comfort Plus but $800 to upgrade to First! (I got an offer on Alaskan to upgrade to First for $50 last time which I took of course.)

I was checking to see if I could use my Amex Plat travel credit online for a Comfort+ fare. If you select Business it displays the Comfort+ fare

I was impressed to see I got another 45 SCs for flying SEA-LAX. I thought as it was a bit shorter (and not international) than YVR-LAX it might have earned at a lower rate but lo and behold there it is. Then there'll be another lousy 40 for LAX-SYD. Should make it a bit easier to requalify for SG this year at least.

Just booked my first group of DL C+ fares for an upcoming US trip. Normally I book on AA domestic but thought I would give DL mainline a go (as cheaper than AA and better schedule).

Even though I do not need the VA SC, one C+ fare equated to only AUD2.13/VA SC which I thought was quite reasonable. The VA FF earn also far exceeds the poor 'fairer and simpler' QF earn on AA.

Those are some amazing fares - especially First!

Can someone clarify the SC earn info for me?

If I get comp upgraded to C+ doors my BP show W class fare and earn the Y+ SC? Or original paid fare SC?

Likewise, same question but with paid upgrade?

Comp upgrade is not W.

Don't know about paid upgrade.

Buying in the first place books you into W.

I once did a paid upgrade 2 weeks or so before the flight and they re issued me the ticket in the new class of fare.. I received the higher class status credits but I don't know if this is the norm..

My recent DL C+ flight (class W) credited with full PE SC and VFF points. A nice earner compared to what AA/QF now pay (and it was cheaper as well).

I have to say that I was very impressed by the service provided by DL. Far better on board than what QF and VA have ever provided in dom Y. This may be skewed a little however as it was one of their 'flagship' domestic services, JFK-SFO, but this should be equal to say PER-BNE/SYD/MEL.

The FA worked harder than I have ever seen on any airline, doing a meal service with the trolley (a large wrap and cookie, free in C+ JFK-SFO/LAX), three additional snack services with the trolley (snacks are free for all), an ice cream run (free in C+, unknown in Y) and intermittent water/drink runs (no trolley) between those services. All in six and a half hours. The FA were actually friendly as well, quite rare for an American airline.

Also, all 'elite' services were provided without issue. Priority check in, baggage, TSA clearance, boarding and baggage delivery were as advertised. The JFK Sky Cub even had a basic hot breakfast on offer.
