Delta Comfort Plus SC earn with VA

Does anyone understand this for certain. I think it looks ambiguous, but maybe thats because I am reading too much into it.
Plus someone mentioned earlier, that status credits may/will not be earned if the flight is not Delta metal.

Except:
Codeshare flights (Any flight with a DL flight number that is operated by an airline other than a Delta Connection branded carrier or Virgin Australia)

On this website
Delta Flight Partners : Delta Air Lines
it says "Compass" is a 'Delta Connection Carrier'

I want to take flight DL5683 YVR-LAX.
The operator is "Compass DBA Delta Connection"
and will book on Delta website directly and quote my Velocity number, and I want the status points for Comfort+ ticket?

I fear ringing Velocity might result in different answers but surely someone has flown one of the partner "connection" airlines before, and knows whether you get the status credits or not

You'll get the points, it's like QFLink and Jetconnect for QF and VA Regional for VA.

I have flown flown "Compass" on DL flight numbers in the last six months (I have also flown Compass on AA flight numbers but that's another story). I earned as for DL when on DL flight numbers.

Fare was USD151 return.

Flew "Compass" on DL flight numbers last week (I have also flown Compas on AA flight numbers but that's anotehr story).

Earn:Fare was USD151 return.

That's interesting, your flights took a few days to post but I flew DL 2 days ago and it credited today. DL posted quicker than my VA flight to LAX which is still yet to post.

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

I booked SEA-YVR on the train, business class train tickets were around $200 for 4 of us in August, I hear the scenery is outstanding.

When I tried to book Amtrak there were only two trains per day at stupid times (630am and 530pm I think) whereas there were Amtrak buses all through the day at human hours. I think it was only about $32 one way. I might have to get up early - at least there's no need to get there too early for the train. Or do I have to go through immigration at Vancouver station? (getting way off topic here)

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

Flew " W " on Delta this week. Got the PE status credits posted to VA within 3 days as expected.

Great earn as the ticket was about $80 USD dearer than Y but $200 USD cheaper than first class.

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

Can anyone please advise the best way to book flights with Delta? i have 3 segments to book for next year in "W" which will be great for the SC's etc, but as a Delta member do i book direct using my Delta miles or do i have to change it to Velocity to ensure all points and SC's? It's just that it didn't seem to want me to change it and said it didnt recognise my name when changing to Velocity FF.

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

I have always just booked using Delta.com ... I have never put my Skymiles number in at any stage, always my Velocity number.

If you re having trouble then you may need to call to call to get your velocity number in (perhaps after booking with no number).

dont be logged into the DL site. Just book and add your VA FF# in the FF field. I found that it didn't recognise my VA status till the next day.

Re: Earning Extra Status On Delta Comfort+ in the USA - Too Good to Be True?

oh yeah good point, i was just thinking that being logged in made it more legit and ensured it was on my account and easier for seating etc.

definitely

Make the booking not logged in and just add you VFF number when making the booking. Or leave blank and add it via manage booking as guest.

I have done it both ways and never had an issue

Delta Comfort +

Just booked a flight on Delta from YYZ-JFK and was surprised to see that the fares for Comfort + was cheaper than Main Cabin on the flight I wanted. Is this something that happens often? It was $209 v $232. Obviously booked the Comfort + seats.

Other than slightly more leg room what other differences are there? It looks like it books into W class so I'm guessing more points and status credits (crediting to VA)?

Re: Delta Comfort +

Last year, with Virgin America, I got 2 x first domestic (SEA>SFO) for almost the same as Y+ seats and something similar for Delta (LAX>SEA).

No idea how or why, just lucked out and grabbed them.

Such an event is pricing - sometimes happens and good luck when it does.

I have moved this post to a thread on the topic - read the posts already here, especially those in the last few months.

As far at C+ goes, you get good SC earn, on longer flights complimentary beverages (including alcohol) and a more substantial snack.

Re: Delta Comfort +

I booked some DL flights using my SkyMiles number but then as it wasn't recognising my status I was able to go in and change it to my Velocity number and everything worked out. I don't really need my SkyMiles account then. Get plenty of emails from Delta.

Plus priority boarding :)

Last week I flew SYD-LAX on VA and earned 40 SCs. My next flight was LAX-YVR in Delta Comfort Plus and cost about 1/8th of my first flight but earned 45 SCs. It's a no brainer to use it, isn't it?
