Delta or VA on J in May to LA

Hi all,
I have to head to the US in early May and have two options up to LA and keen to get opinions on what is the best seat. Have not flown VA or Delta J long haul before as previously used SQ and ANZ. Would be great to know whether any of the upgraded VA 777's will be operational on those routes on those dates or whether the Delta J product might be worth a run??

9/5 VA7 - Bris - LA (Virgin - 777)
13/ 5 VA2 - LA - Syd (Virgin - 777)

or

9/5 VA6552 - Syd - LA (Delta - 777)
13/5 VA8 - LA - Bris (Virgin 777)

Flown the old VA J 6 times...once into Bris...others to LA.....
The new config allows access to aisles...check seatguru

Have done some further investigation and looks like new layout on VA1 and VA2 on those dates so will run with those and hope for the best!
