Denali Demo and Rebuild

......

As in the fit out cost $10K? Interesting.....
About $9.6 but very happy with it. Even if we bought workbenches and shelving elsewhere, would still have to pay someone to assemble & install so maybe this was a little bit more but happy to have it all done by one company.

Im sure if youre handy, you can do the slat wall yourself but we're not.

I added the yellow bumper bar on the bottom shelf so Mr Denali doesnt suffer any more head injuries as hes been knocking himself about for the last 12mths.... I try not to laugh but its getting that bad Im worried that he wont remember the new house once we move in 🤣

Garage fitout complete.

Looks great. Lots of room for Mr Denali's expanded guitar collection. I see some wall brackets there already!

Sydney is further from Antarctica than Tas. 🤣

I was thinking about nests of wasps and other creepy-crawlies, leaves getting blown in that grilled part etc. But thermal insulation too. I lived in Sydney for 10 years and know that it gets cold at night during the winter. On my house plans down here (built 20 years ago) the HWC is outside but at some point it got changed and it now lives in a cupboard inside (in a separate metal tray to catch leaks).

What's the load rating for the slat wall

Company very easy to deal with, friendly onsite visit, quick quote, good contact & communication.

We actually havent paid for it in full yet. We paid 30% deposit and I phoned on Monday to pay the rest and they said they'll get that from us later so now waiting for our invoice

How much for parking?
So.... talking parking.

Bob, across the road, had tradies show up to do formwork for his driveway and caused mayhem in the street. Blocked off the entire road but had zero traffic management, removed the council foot path and completed the formwork and put up bollards and bunting on the street, blocking off the lane in front of Bob's house... and 2 weeks later.... thats it, no concrete poured and still screaming construction in process, on public land/street. Footpath removed, bunting and safety cones blocking access and an entire lane closed in front of his house.

Mr Denali saw someone stop on our side of the street, taking pictures. The car didnt seem familiar so no idea who it was or why they cared.

A couple of days later, the form work is being removed, where the footpath use to be is filled with gravel and the safety cones/bollards and bunting removed and still no driveway poured

So Mr Denali spotted road work signs on someone's council pickup today and thought.... we might need that... and brought them home 🤣

Are you going to put old carpet or something down to catch oils drips/tyre marks? Or is it "Meh. Its a garage"

We talked about epoxy flooring but decided on meh, its a garage. We can always do it later, after we've done all the other things we want to get done

The heavy duty mat on the right hand side is because scuba tanks will be stored there. I could have used only half of it but its there for now
