Flying AY in J, SIN to LHR and booked though QF, also WP. Told that as I am not flying QF metal that I cannot access the 1st lounge until after 7.30pm due to capacity management. First time for me, and I have been through Singapore multiple times this year, anyone else experienced this?

Currently sitting in QR lounge so not a shabby alternative and were planning to head here at sometime anyway.

Haven't experienced that, but honestly you're not missing much. I find that lounge absolute madness until the night time flights start leaving. All open air, no quiet areas, long lines for showers, no easy snacks to just grab yourself.

Table service, St Henri, gluten free chips and barramundi, been a staple for a while now, plus I was there early enough for a table.

This is pretty common and not really newsworthy. The SIN QF F lounge is frequently oversubscribed at peak periods and capacity restrictions enacted as per other OW lounges.
One of my family members has been refused access here as QF Plat but flying another OW carrier.

Sadly it’s the MO at this lounge.

As a WP flying on a QF ticket but BA metal I’ve also been bounced previously.
My family member was exact same scenario as you.
I half expected it and told them the alternatives.
To be honest it’s not a huge lounge and if I was entering at a peak time flying QF as a QF elite and not able to get a table / shower etc due to others already in on other carriers I’d not be impressed.

What lounge is that which has St Henri? Qantas for P1/CL?

Interestingly, the Qantas First Lounge no longer appears on the list of SIN lounges on the Oneworld website:

Interesting, future expansion plans?

I can't see them stopping F anytime soon at SIN even after SYD-LHR direct starts.

Conjecture only, but maybe like QR rules in DOH, QF is intending restricting their F lounge at SIN to only QF premium flyers in future and not OW elites?

Yes; had the same experience in August flying AY in J, SIN to LHR, as a BA Gold.

After making the point I was travelling solo, and had just arrived on QF51 (also J), I was admitted without issue.

If they did that, they would still have to provide an alternative for the OW elites, as QR has had to do at DOH. Which would lead to the QF J lounge becoming even more overcrowded.

I've never had issues getting into the QF F SIN lounge. Then again, since it opened, the only non QF flights I've had out of SIN have been JL to HND, often on the QF code.

I don't think they'd "have to" provide an alternative so long as they allow OWEs flying QF Y into the F lounge, which it sounds like they are already doing. It's OWEs flying on non QF codes that are getting turned away.

QF's model seems to be to have more people in its lounges rather than less, and enjoying the ancillary revenue that comes with it. I don't think they'd limit it unless they absolutely had no other choice (i.e. during peak times)

There was nothing to stop the OP going to the business lounge.

Different issue. some lounges at Doha are access by class of service. There are still lounges for status. IME the status lounge at doha for emerald is equal to the business lounge. espeically if you head to the satellite terminal, which is pretty cool.
