How many people have easy access to a printer while abroad?
I have generally been able to print documentation wherever I am - e.g. most hotels will do it for you.

On my last trip, the DPD was filled out and printed before departure. Of course, most of my international trips are less than a week.

We Airbnb it. As do many.

OK. Just did 2 (for partner) using my Mac.

Mine. Done it previously, so my username/password was saved. Still needed to put in all the personal details, address, blah blah blah. Not difficult but so annoying. Vaccination details were captured when I uploaded Aust vax cert, so all good there.

Partner. Used firefox browser instead of chrome. Uploaded passport, but could not capture all details. Needed to enter name manually. Uploaded Aust vax cert, unable to capture details, so had to input manually.

Really... not great.

I am having trouble logging into the app at the moment-says
" could not connect to the network, please try later"!
Everything else connects ok.

Here is the link you need to use on a laptop if you wish to try. Australian Digital Passenger Declaration (DPD)
Thanks Straitman, and to all the others who offered good advice to us. In the end, we went thru the Department website on my wife’s laptop. The first one took almost an hour, the next one about 25m. At times it was excrutiating, can see why all of the adverse comments. That was down in Pompeii yesterday, just arrived in Rome, and we received the dreaded ‘incomplete’ email….

Time for another beer.

I completed our 2 on Laptop today - originally had trouble logging in as could not remember password and emails to reset password just did not arrive - created new account from scratch and apart from the piss poor WiFi speed in hotel it was somewhat painless. Emailed 2 completed DPD Summaries to hotel to print and all is good.

Total waste of time and effort as nothing is checked anywhere except reqd to check-in - once again no point fighting City Hall

Use the website and log in there.

The people in the next unit to us here in Fiji did their DPDs yesterday.

The app didn't work for them and it took about 40 min total using the web page. They then got the dreaded incomplete email.

I have multiple flights (connections) YYZ-EWR-SFO-SYD same day connections
On the Home Affairs DPD FAQ is states "If your flight to Australia involves one or more stops, you should include the transit countries in the travel history section of the DPD".
To the Question on "Enter Your Flight Details to Start New DPD"
I enter UA flight Details from US to Australia
I the "Travel History" I will answer "Yes" Which generates a box, and I put USA.
1. Is there an option to add the connection flights details?
2. I depart on 2nd arrival on 4th of the month. Can only complete 72 hours the the flight arrival time on the 4th or 72 Hours when I board the flight for Australia on 2nd.

Does anyone know if the DPD is temporary or permanent? I had to use it for the first time this week and it's a complete crock of garbage.

Yes you can add connecting flights (not sure if there is any limit) and extra countries.

I think you can submit up to 7 days before. It used to be 72 hours due to need for pre departure covid test but that was removed mid April.

You can have more than 1 future trip registered in dpd.

Thank you for your quick reply.
My son who lives in MEL, when he was in Toronto in April this year; he completed the DPD it was from Canada -SYD end of April.

For flights there was only one option add flights details is for arrival flight into Australia. Can only add 1 flight in that section.
Knowing I would be going via USA, In Travel History he selected "Yes" . Options to give detail of the Countries .BTW, there is option to add Multiple countries.
He went all the way to the end no option to add details of the connecting flight.
Where did you add the connecting flight? Thanks again
FWI: He completed it on the laptop. I will also be completing it on my Laptop.
I am not tech savvy when it comes to smart phone.

I'm not sure what the issue is there. I entered the flight number from London as my starting flight but it 'knew' that flight number didn't come directly to Australia so then it asked for the next flight that would connect into Australia. I only had to enter two though

I have 2 flights before the flight to SYD. The 7 day window to start the DPD is early next week YYZ time. I will add the starting flight from YYZ -EWR-US West coast & see if allows me to enter Finally connecting flight to SYD. Total of 3 flights.
My Son itinerary was YYZ-YVR-SYD. He only Entered YVR-SYD. It Accept. For Travel History he answered "NO' Canada was his only Destination. He is Australian Citizen & Canadian Citizen. He completed his form as an Australian Citizen.
Thanks for your input.

You can enter multiple flights, starting with first flight and finish with flight into to Oz. And as per your original question, include all transit countries in travel history.

Ditto. You need to start with your first international flight rather than the one that arrives in Australia.
