Digital tracking of quarantined people

Still waiting for a call back from Tas Health to two phone enquiries about my proximity (or not) to a pos virus case that arrvd back in Tas 18 Mar, same day as me. Cant find out inward travel dets for that case.. Am not ill, so yes of course triage the urgents first, but if our state cant publish case movement data (as NZ does.._) and there are asymptomatic/mild cases out there, then Jo public cant get to know what might help them.

They schedule phone calls and if no answer they act accordingly, for better or for worse.
 
Reported that in Germany if you have recovered from Covid 19 you are given a health certificate which allows you to be out and about.A get out of jail free card.

About the only thing that comes out of this is that whoever is contracted to make a mandatory app that everyone must install makes a lot of money out of it.

Not saying the situation isn't serious but to quote something I read recently: "We went all authoritarian awful quickly". And I'm not talking about the government, I'm talking about the commentators who have been calling for greater controls and restrictions since day 1.

The COVID stats have always been suspect. Due to different testing regimes. But in relation to sheer deaths, many have wisened up to examining base death rates in a community - these have spiked. The current numbers up the increased death rate at somewhere between 30% and 50%. Compared to official CVID deaths, this increases most countries CoVID deaths by roughly 50 to 75%. So whatever you read today as official COVID deaths, double it...

Absolutely, and the middle ground neither requires ankle bracelets nor does it hand wave away a one in 100 year pandemic.

Australia's current trajectory proves this out quite nicely. Compare us to Singapore, for example, who adopted the authoritarian position (heavy contact tracing and mobile tracking) and have only just 2 days ago instituted the stay home social distancing controls we have and are struggling to avoid case rate acceleration whilst we are enjoying day on day reductions without the mobile tracking and heavy contact tracing:

It's more complex than just putting everyone under surveillance, it seems.
 
Contact tracing is being done “on the quiet” in the background.

Here it was beefed up to over 300 people.... you’d need that many to chase up all the people BJ PM Boris HANDSHOOK!
 
I am fully for phone tracking with one simple proviso - I will not be worse off.
If it were only contact tracing I am ok with that. The Minister just said the police will not have access - true, but that is not the whole truth. Lets say I broke travel rules to a party/bbq I trust health workers, but it is possible the police get to hear quarantine and hand out a fine after after the fact.
A clear statement that the information collected, the information is legally inadmissible in any court of law, state or federal, protected by Commonwealth emergency legislation, and a criminal offence for any entity other than health care wokers using it for anything other than contact tracing.

Presently the Federal govt has a blanket information sharing loophole - like so called metadata - that leaks information with a warrant. Police also collect tower dumps, sometimes no warrant, scooping up everyone. So I ofen let my phone go flat.

If they want unconditional worry free take up, they better enshrine narrowness.
So far they are keeping the distrust - I am not convinced. Even then I would compile the app from source onto my phone, and add a 10 minute warning tone.
