Discounted classic rewards to NZ

It's a QF promo
For a limited time only, you can save 30% of the Qantas Points required to fly across the Tasman with Classic Flight Rewards.*

Meh British Airways will let me fly across the ditch for 11K Avios!
What does it take (from flying) to earn those avios/QF ff points? Earn(flying) to burn is not the same for ffp's, but credit cards often transfer as the same rate. But QF is generally poor earn to burn.
For my TT flights AU to NZ real taxes are ~A$140 and NZ to AU ~NZ$66, so saving with an award are not a lot.

Took advantage of this offer to do a cheeky South Island road trip next month CHC-ZQN. There was plenty of award availability at 12k (v quite expensive revenue fares at the moment!). I had an AMEX cash back offer on QF, so that reduced the taxes by $50.

Funny (or not so) thing, we booked similar last year (discount NZ award flights) but the “TT bubble” burst before we even planned what we were going to do…😳

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
