Discussion of fuel dumps

Does anyone have any experience succeeding with fuel dumps on a C3 to C2? Preferably in W or J.

For those confused by the seemingly cryptic 'C' references:

C1 North America
C1.5 Caribbean, Bermuda
C2 Europe
C2.5 Middle East
C3 Asia
C4 South America
C5 Africa
C6 Oceania

(cut and paste from FT)

Theres a nice C3 - C6 that I want to book but YQ is double the fare. any ways to reduce guys?

You do not need to code the candidate fare. That way no one knows what fare, airline, etc you are talking about. That means you are expecting them to go and find the fare first and then a 1X/3X?

Just share the candidate fare and then people will be more willing to assist. Also it helps others who may be looking for fares on that routing.

Does anyone have any ideas about getting to C4 cheaply, i want to go later this year ~sept for three months. i will probably have to go by the US, using the FD tricks, getting to the US ~$1000 then into the north of south america and ending in the south (so an open jaw). I couldnt get anything like the old delta tricks from a year ago. i am easy. Any suggestions?

Are you looking at leaving from any particular part of C6? Is the ~$1000 you've found the total for the open jaw? and do you have a preference for places to arrive and leave from in C4?

Leave Syd. The dump is earlier the.post. the price is to C1 the rest is extra

I'd like to do as much of the continent as possible. So enter and leave anywhere is fine

Hello, I am yet another newbie. I've been part of the FT forum for around a month, and I've been trying to dump a UA SYD-LAX in July for a long time. The best I've gotten is a 50% dump with dessert for CAD1058 a/i. I've also looked the other way LAX-SYD in May and the best I've gotten is CAD949 on UA. I need help reducing the c6-c1. I think I've done the best I can with the c1-c6. Any help cutting the fat for either are appreciated! I'm Canadian with Aussie connections, the ft forum didn't really meet my needs of finding the appropriate dump for the c6/c1 route.

Im trying to do dump LAX - MEL - LAX . The YQ is about 680 on Q. i tried the captial to capital both in UK suggested - did not seem to change much. Any ideas on what would be resonable 3X offsets YQ?

thanks much!

OW and around $1000 depending on season. Dump works all year and takes the same amount off the fate at the time.

Been trying to get my head around FD and I must say that it is very intriguing albeit challenging to figure out how to make this work. I think the 3x is stumping me as anything I try only increases the costs so I must be doing something wrong.

Wondering if any AFFer's could point a fool in the right direction - I'm trying to get the Sister in Law to a wedding in Holland and found a great candidate fare from YYZ to AMS where the YR is about 50% of the all in ticket ($842 ai). Dates and routes are limited which I appreciate is against the nature of this option but I want to know if the ticket that I'm looking at is even allowed to have a 3x segment which would reduce the total fare.

The rules state: "End on end not permitted. Side trips not permitted" - I'm guessing this fare does not allow 3x hence my struggles with getting the price down? Appreciate any insight or guidance. Thanks
