Re: The totally off-topic thread

We bought these lightweight foam balls that you can throw high and if they miss it won't knock them out cold. Or ping pong balls. He will often catch the ball in his two front paws and hold it. It's quite weird.

Does anyone's cat do the bottom wiggle when they are crouching to line up their "prey". And shopping bags. They love getting into shopping bags.

Oh yes Petal loves bags and I leave them on the floor for her to play in (paper and cloth). She has a little furry toy she throws around and will play with it for quite a long time. Hilarious to watch, especially when she is running from one end of the place to the other and then jumping on it before throwing it in the air.

She'll stand on the washing machine looking outside at the birds and crouch and tense up ready to pounce. Can be fun sneaking up behind her. She never goes outside so the birds are safe.

Our raggy doesn't flop when you pick him up but he lets it all hang loose when he's on his back. And then he kind of exudes off chairs.

Yeah lolly wiggles and backs up a little - she loves it when I see her do that and I get all excited for her and say "go on lolly you can do it, quick quick get it" or if shes jumping something big and i say yay at the end shes always super happy with it.
She doesn't go inside things but she does get depressed if the house is messy up until the point where she thinks oh this isn't mess its an obstacle course and we play chasey through it... then she gets upset when the mess is gone (usually shopping or the sorted out piles of laundry)
I have paper lanterns tied to string - the lantern is a distraction she just wants the string
We also have angry birds balls and she will pounce on with all four paws then fall over sideways, I once saw her hit it so hard that she did a tumble roll haha

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Really? Sometimes I don't think so.

I felt the same way but I couldn't live without a pet and so I had to get a cat.
I have been allergic to them my whole life but I told my body to suck it up pets make life better.
We can't have a dog and fish/birds aren't the same
And now I think my cat is the greatest but I still remember my errrgh cats days

So golf - I found out yesterday stood for Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden at trivia last night...
Ever played golf at ESK?

Shopping bags. Cardboard boxes. Casserole dishes, and even the stockpot just after I'd washed and dried it (I'll try to find the photo)

Re: The totally off-topic thread

I find budgies one of the nicest pets. They care about you are good at learning and communicating etc.

But cats and budgies don't mix.

And even silver dishes. ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1372336593.876015.jpg

Now he's so big his head doesn't even fit in.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

And no ones noticed the irony of mine! :p

So obvious too. :)

One Saturday arvo I was with my husband walking with him as he played a solo round of golf at his club. An official went up to him and had a quiet word in his ear. Seems I had committed the most grievous crime of daring to be on their golf course on a Saturday afternoon.

Im like what everyone is afraid a toddler would be with a pet... just a little rough, not in a malicious way.. just because i don't know any better...
Birds don't last long with me because I just got to pick up and move and pat my pets too much

Re: The totally off-topic thread

I came across this rather amusing video today.

Thought I might share with AFFers

from a pet owner who infrequently has to tidy up the mess

PS: thanks to Serfty who showed me how to insert photos / videos

Re: The totally cat thread

But what's with the 20, then?

Its possible I may have been 20 when I made the name up, or I just liked the number. I really can't remember!

Nothing better than a freshly washed pot

If you have one of those LED pointers, your cat will go crazy chasing the light. Just don't point it at the cats eyes.
