Re: The totally off-topic thread

So... does anyone else walk their inside cats on a harness and lead outside?
Or is that just me?

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Really? are you using one with clips so that you don't need to drag something over their head. Ours are by Cat-IT if that is a company. That's the only text on them, and it's on the clips

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Our cat comes when called pretty much always. Best one was when we returned from a week with the brother in law and their Collies. After a long day driving and we're all tired, the then eight year old comes out and announces that "this cat is too small, I'm used to big dogs." Then she turns around saying "I'm going to bed, come on cat". Walks off, cat half a pace behind.:lol:

That's now one of our favourite lines "Come on cat".

Re: The totally off-topic thread

In a Robin Williams comedy act, he stereotypes cats as either one of the most mellow* of the domestic animals, or the most highly strung.

Is there any truth to those clauses?

* You may need to look up the slang definition of mellow to understand this properly.

Re: The totally off-topic thread

Our cat lived rough for a couple of years before she came to us. highly strung is not really the word for it. took her about 6 or so years to stop using claw when batting at us. still lashes out ever so often now.

Used to come home at night and see her coming out of the drains as we drove down the street.

All the Cat Lovers should check out a show called "My Cat from Hell".

Bella is an indoor cat, but I tak her out in the garden with a harness and extendable lead (or used to). Now I tend to let her roam with supervision, but always leave the front door open so if she gets a fright she can retreat (she's afraid of strangers).

Re: The totally cat thread

Lol. I wanted to "be a butterfly when I grow up". It's the same one I have a tattoo of.

I thought about having one of those done. Tiny though and not on display. I'm far too old to do that. But the thought of going to a tattoo parlour put me off. Which led me to think there is probably a market for a high end Tattoo boutique for people who aren't all that brave and like more than a piece of wood to clamp down on when the pain kicks in. "Champers while you tatt" might work!

Your cat and Pushka came from the same litter. Every time she needs her shots I warn the vets. But they look at me like "we know what we are doing" so I'm somewhat pleased when she draws their blood. She always draws their blood. :).

Mines only on display if I'm in a bikini. I found a good tattoo parlour through a friend, and took a friend with me so that I could chat while I was having it done to distract me. Certainly not the worst pain I've ever experienced, and once it was finished it was fine. Its the outlines that hurt, the colouring in part is easy,

Yes I have that one and as soon as she sees it near her, the claws are out. I've left it out for her to play with but no go.

Can't even keep a collar on her which makes it very important that she stays indoors all the time.

Oh, ok then. Mine run to the door when we get them out, then sit patiently while getting geared up. They don't wear a collar because they are inside only and hopefully can't/won't escape. Both chipped anyway, of course.

They booted us out of the off topic thread!

This is Girly and Baby Boy 14 years ago. We just recently had to put Baby Boy (grey) down due to cancer, it was one of the hardest days of my life. He was always the loud friendly one and she was quiet and a bit odd (as can be seen in the pic). Girly has taken on so many of his characteristics now it's freaky.
