Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone had any status run suggestions for me from PER - need 200 SC to hit SG before the end of June. Was going to squeak through with a work flight, but this has been delayed unfortunately...

I do have the Double SC promotion, so was thinking of booking a JASA PER-KTA-PER for $205 and 48k points. Are there any other alternatives?

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

Had 4 flights in early May paid for using 3 flight vouchers.
Hadn't seen the double SCs post by 4 June so called QF Service Centre to hurry the process along.
While I was it would all happen automatically 6 weeks after flight, next day the double SCs magically appeared. :)
Paddy happy!

You could do PER-MEL-SYD-PER in a day for 72k + $290, but that will of course be overkill SC wise, however you get more time in the air!

How about a Saturday morning run to Newman, back in Perth by lunch.
48k + $104 with 240 SCs in the bag.

Over kill? My calculations make that exactly 200 SC (80+40+80)

Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview!

immature has the double SC offer, so it would be 400 SC.

Fair enough then, as this wasn't in the DSC thread, I assumed he didn't.

Edit: And as I was skimming. I didn't read the last line of his post.

*Hides head in shame*

Just out of interest, how do you use the QF booking site to do this? If i try a multi-city booking, I get this error message:
We are unable to process your request. Please try again.

PER-SYD return on the same day, pick one of the indirect routes.

You could even do PER-MEL-SYD-MEL-PER. Even more SCs (although a bit more $) if you can route to SYD via ADL.

Login, and then select Award Bookings. Check the 'Qantas And Jetstar Any Seat Award' button. Select PER-SYD for the flight, and then choose one with a stopover in MEL.

Ok thanks, its tough finding cheap JASA returns from Perth!

True. How about a couple of nights in Cairns? PER-xBNE-CNS-xSYD-PER (or similar) for 72k + $345 and giving a mammoth 600 SC if you have the DSC offer. Enough to retain SG in one hit.

Wow thats impressive. I don't need to get any more SC's - I have six months to get 60SCs to get Platinum. I'm not likely to get to 2400 by re-assessment so happy to minimise the travel and mximise the family time :)..However, next year is another story.

I thought that it was 280 Sc total return or 560 under the DSC Promo?
PER-BNE 80sc
BNE-CNS 60sc

Yes, but I put in a PER-xSYD-CNS leg. If you can go via SYD both ways then you'd be up to 640 DSC

I didn't see any -xSYD + BNE-CNS in the mix, however, not saying it can't be done. All were direct, 2 sectors each way.

It would be if it's a PER/BNE/CNS return that was referenced. If you look at the routing that gizzard advised (bolding mine):
