How about just your LGA-MCO r/t then? You get 180SC's exactly, you don't earn any SC's that you don't need, it's the cheapest overall cost at USD$504 and it's an easy return run.

Good Suggestion.

My Suggestion for a similar return on investment is :

In Feb, we did LGA > ATL in F on a day trip to boost the Status Credit balance by 180SC.

One can easily spend 6 hours in Atlanta for the day and checkout the CNN world HQ or even the Coca Cola Museum. We told everyone it's was a "daytrip" , but in reality it was a Status Run

As this is a highly competitive route between AA & DL some reasonable returns can be had.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

As mentioned on here, (unless you are on QF LTS/LTG) any extra SC to make it to these will be a plus.

Any ideas for 60SC's domestic to requal for WP? Unfortunately I am short as I didn't realise MH J from LHR gets classed as Y by QFF

My cut off is June 30.

It's pretty obvious really - I know this was an attack on the poster as you don't agree with their views, but what they were referring to was a few posts earlier where the poster said they only need the bare minimum SC to qual/requal. So this was a suggestion saying that if you're not LTS/LTG then surely you'd want all the SC you could get. Simple really.

Some "J" fares on MH don't earn at all on BA!

I'd say SYD-BNE-CNS and return flexi one way red-e deal the other, gives 75SC for roughly $600. Other option would be SYD-BNE-TSV flexi one way red-e deal the other, might be slightly cheaper.

I really don't want to start any kind of flame war or anything but...

Actually no. I read the post, then went back to the previous page and tried to find a post that would make sense with the reply; I honestly couldn't.

I'm a reasonably intelligent soul (or hope so :) ) and it wasn't clear to me.

I do NOT want to attack anyone, and I really try very hard to give AP a lot of leeway with his posting style but that one really had me scratching my head, but I decided to let it go and move on. It seems the Pooch doesn't know how to quote posts, which is a pity as it really WOULD help a great deal to have more of an idea what he's responding ot. AP: please try and learn - it's not very hard to use "Reply with Quote" button :)

Yes I have been looking at both CNS and TSV but they were coming up quite expensive...I'll look again.

As a mater of background, you obviously have not followed my posts; I do not "attack" anyone because of their point of view. I always strive to argue the point not the person.

But regarding this recent post, it might have seemed obvious to you which post it was in response to, but it was not obvious to me. And I could not have asked any more politely. If you have perceived it as anything else, it is on you not on me.

It's coming towards the more popular season for far north Queensland, and school holidays are coming up at the end of June, so it can be difficult in this case.

it wasn't clear to me.
it was not obvious to me.
I'm in the same boat, but I thought it wasn't exactly a pivotal point or highlight of the thread so I just let it go.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Don't plug every stop in, just main ones like LAX-JFK. Then, let select multi-stop flights for each sector. If using Google flights be sure to select "show x longer or more expensive flights".

lol, just shy of 1,000,000 BIS miles I've learnt something new - thanks!

I need to travel LAX-JFK-LAX in July and your tip has got me thinking about doing an usual routing to collect the 435SC I need to re-qualify QF Plat. I would have done the bog standard non-stop leaving me with another 135SC...

Looks like the best I can do is LAX-DFW-JFK...DFW-LAS-LAX for around $1300USD .... I'll miss out on a lie flat bed, but I'll get to see a show and lose some coin in Vegas :D

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Hi All,

Long time stalker, first time poster. Coming up to my Qantas Anniversary and I am in need of 220 SCs. Any recommendations for domestic flights that are good bang for buck? Even Australia/NZ/Asia region international flight would be fine.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Welcome to AFF, KyBry.

Some added information is always pertinent to assisting us make the recommendations and discussion of cost versus benefits.

1. Home airport
2. Budget ($)
3. Time frames (when is the anniversary)
4. Availability for flying [weekends only, any holidays before anniversary, any trips you are taking (Dom or Intl) where you have free days]

That'll help formulate the strategies...

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Thanks QF WP! To give additional information:

Home Airport: CBR but can get to SYD, WGA etc very easily.
Budget: Don't really have one but getting it for a reasonable price would be nice. Point budget around 70k.
Time Frames: Membership Anniversary 30 Jun
Availability: Any time.

I am fairly new to all of this but I am trying to start building it all up.

Thanks for your help.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

hmm to get 220 SC ex-CBR by the end of the month could be a bit costly but I think perhaps CBR-xSYD/MEL-AKL/CHC/WLG would work in J return. You'd be looking at around $2k (guestimate) for this unless a random sale pops up, but CBR-xSYD-AKL would get 120 SC in J, so 240 r/t.

Another option would be doing say CBR-xSYD/MEL-OOL in J for 160 SC r/t then again in Y to get the other 60.

noting J fares ex-CBR are probably higher, but perhaps not to OOL given a leisure destination, but more limited availability.

Something like CBR-xSYD-DRW or CBR-xBNE-CNS/TSV might also provide some value.

good luck
