Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview! [not the discussion thread]

Looks like a good run... was planning to do my 1st ever status run in Dec as I need to be in the US. I tried plugging your itinerary (and variations) into matrix ITA and only accepts six flight segments. Also YVR-PHX was in Y with stop over at SEA with the rest in F. Adding YVR-SEA as a sector allowed travel in F

So need to ask some novice questions... do you book such a solid status run in certain sectors or use other sites (AA seems limited to six segments also). Perhaps there is some guidance on this thread a couple of hundreds pages back that I could not find. I can find short sectors in Dec like MCO-DFW-ORD for $293 which sounds good to me but the ppl in the know on this site would probably know many better.

Good luck with this run and I hope to piece together a mighty run in Dec from effectively <100 SC to WP.. going to be some tough days!

Thanks.

Oops sorry for that will repost in proper thread

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Agree. Also factor in time to look for the baggage storage facility and could be a real problem.
Similar issue today.

Flight from CNX delayed 30 minutes. Touched down and by the time we disembarked and collected 2 bags it was ~50 minutes after touchdown. Took another ~10 minutes to get upstairs to departures.

I would use the left luggage at departures after check-in for these types of situations.

Hi Guys.

Looking at doing a particular run. But when trying to book its saying that "the Class of service is not available on one or more of your flights.

Flight is LAX-SEA(A) SEA-ORD(A)-MIA(A)-PTY(I) PTY-MIA(I)-CLT(A)-DTW(A) 500 SC for $1300 But i need to be in DTW on the 15th

Does this mean that mean the flight i am looking at is not going to give me the status credits?

I'm guessing you you selected First Class when putting together your run, however MIA-PTY-MIA are international flights and will therefore be business class.

Nope. I just put it into google flights as business class or higher.

Does this mean if i continue it will still cost the same as shown. But they can only give me business on the MIA PTY MIA Section. which is what i am happy with anyway.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

A is first class, I is business.

I do understand that. But the part I don't under stand is why its brining it up when i am happy with (I) for the MIA-PTY-MIA section?

If you have calculated the SC for A (dom) and I (int) to get 500, then proceed to book on the AA site to double check the pricing and you should be fine.

'class of service not available' is fairly common when there is a change of class for one or more sectors of a costed itinerary. In this case it is simply alerting you that the international sectors are in business class, not first.

Other variations include things like 'the cabin you have selected is not available' (etc)

Or a tiny exclamation mark. :-|

For the PTY flights, I class is business ... AA DO NOT Sell "First" on these sectors.

As such you'll get 60 SC's for each of those, so a total of 410 SC's even though it's really the same seat and service.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

If you want definitive answers, post the Google flights link so we can see what you see.

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

This is the link to google flights

https://www.google.com/flights/?cur...PTYMIA0AA960-MIACLT0AA2448-CLTDTW0AA1821;sc=b

So my main concern was that it would actually allow me to book the flight with that "warning" not the fact that i hoped i would get the 90SC each way. I budgeted? for 60 Each in Business. And Serfty Cheers for that. There is also the inital flight from LAX to SEA.

Yes - you can book exactly what appears on the screen. The 'warning' message serves only to note the change in cabin class.

I note Google Flights has that fare priced in AUD. How do you get it to do that?

In the "Flights" drop down menu on the top left corner you can select currency.

Need 40 SC for Gold by August End

Hello Everyone,

I've been flying a lot for work and only need 40 SC to make gold by the end of August.

Trying to keep this low cost and I can only fly the weekends after the 16th which is making this super tough. I'm located at Sydney.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
Anthony

Have a look at Flexi fares to BNE, MEL, ADL. Just get the cheapest you can that will earn at least 20SC each way.
