My favourite domestic run is MEL-BNE-CNS return in J on a DSC promo.

I did this in Y this month. I couldn't allow myself to let my Feb 2020 DSC vouchers expire and go to waste. I'm quite happy at $3.40 per SC. I was also lucky to beat the lockdown by only a few days.
 
Quick one: is the published chart for SCs earned for PointsClub on the QF website correct for domestic business awards?

The numbers there don't seem to correspond with the examples of itineraries I'm seeing here.

Would greatly appreciate if someone can confirm which is correct in practice.

Wow - thanks. Really glad I asked as I naively believed what QF has published on its own site.

My Fast Track runs 30 March - 30 June. My membership year ends 31 May.

My intention is to get close to but not cross the 100-threshold as early in as I can given the situation with borders (I live in Melbourne; yay me), but not actually cross it until after the membership year restarts.

If I were going off the published chart and flew that trip, I'd ironically be very unhappy to learn that I had earned more SCs than I wanted...

(I have to go rework my entire itinerary now. 🤦🏻‍♂️)

Thanks for the link, I guess that's a screenshot from the press pack. If those figures are what's actually been programmed to credit, we may see some additional opportunities when international travel opens up (a few I've already identified involve ramen and snow fields..)

Is there a potential DSC promotion coming soon? I haven't been able to use my amex $450 credit and the renewal is coming soon so I don't want this to go to waste.
 
I think it’s likely they will do a DSC at some point, perhaps once the Federal government relaxes the rules to the point where QF starts flying internationally again, but that could be months away.
 
Not much point in a DSC offer at the moment, with the QF announcement in Nov 20 I would suspect most on this site will take one flight and get their status extended through to sometime in 2022.
 
Why would anyone bother doing status runs at the moment, most people would have their status extended in the first QF announcement early 2020 and then around late Nov QF made it even simpler as you only need to take one flight to keep status to whenever your year ends in 2022.
Those with membership year ending March who retained on their own did not get their status extended. With the status boost from last year and my flying till last month I've retained till March 2022.

So no status extensions from Qantas and in a few weeks' time I'm back to having to get SCs on my own bat otherwise I lose status at the end of that year.

But then most people whose year ended in March would have had minimal impact on the ability to earn status credits in the flying year ending March 2020 unless they had big trips booked for March 2020. Whereas those for whom March was mid way through their flying year needed the status extension.

That's exactly what QF hoped people would do when they offered the status boost (do domestic flying to make up the difference).

It remains to be seen how soon international travel reopens. If it is a lot later than QF expects they could yet decide to do a further round of status extensions. If QF's expected resumption of international travel in July fails to occur and it actually happens in say December or even say February or March next year then I would think there's a high chance of some further status extension being offered in some form. QF will want to retain the loyalty of its international customers so that they choose to fly QF when they start flying internationally again.

How is that different to others that have roll over dates in July and had also retained their status. The initial extension in early 2020 was of no value to some, my self included as I had already retained P1 by around late November 2019.

With a March rollover most would have received the status boost and then 6 months of status keeper where as those with a roll over or July or August received 1-2 status keeper payments and from memory the September onwards received nothing other than the boost.

What is the real difference between those with membership year ending February and ending March when everything went pear shaped in late March? Those with March ending would have either retained by then, or were never looking to retain and got an extension for not retaining.

February got extension to 2022 and status boost in the year 2021-2022, whereas March got no extension and status boost in 2020-2021.

I disagree as you can get a status boost and still not be able to retain so it is not a form of extension. Everybody got a status boost. Not everybody got a status extension.

We all had an impact, and yes some did benefit more than others. I wouldn't say the impact was particularly minimal for others.

Indeed, it is all about timing of when your membership year ends and how well any of the status extensions and boosts worked for your year. I was responding to the comment that there is no need to be looking at status runs for some time and I begged to differ.
 
Hi, just wanted to make sure, if I am flying Sydney to Alice Springs via Adelaide, do I get SC for each flight?

Sorry if this is really basic question, thanks!
