You can also get some status run inspiration from this AFF article:

If I book a flight for some dates during the designated period, and then later on change those flight dates, do I still get double status credits?
Yes, as long as the new travel dates are within the promo period i.e. 29/03/23 to 28/02/24

When you change dates on a QF booking, does it cancel the original and replace with a new one, or is the original booking retained?
No. If dates changed, it won't change the original booking. Only the dates of the travel within that booking will change

Assumption here is that you have already registered for the promo

Looking at this from the T&Cs seems to imply that only if the original booking is cancelled or rebooked for dates *outside* the period would double status credits not be awarded :
"If you cancel your initial qualifying booking or change it to be outside the promotional period, the double Qantas Points or double Status Credits offer will not apply."
I can see that this can be confusing. What this means is, if one cancels/changes their promotional booking (in this case, dates, essentially) to be outside the promo dates, then DSC/DP won't apply.

Thank you! Much easier to book now for later in the year if I know I can change dates later (subject to availability of course).

There's a list of some status run ideas on QF metal that are available during the current Double Status Credits offer here:

The best one seems to be OOL-MEL-AKL-MEL-OOL in J.

Whilst I’m a busy flyer, I’m a novice at status runs, however I’m going to struggle to retain my Platonum status this year and not quite ready for my soft landing back to Gold. The OOL-MEL-AKL route often seems like a great option, but no matter which dates I look at, I can’t seem to get anywhere near the $3-5 per SC I see other experts unearthing!! Would anyone have any tips on how to hunt out the best price (I’m very flexible on dates). With four hours of the promo left, I’m having a last ditch attempt!!

Membership year ends 31st Jan. Currently WP with 500+ SC, from roll-over. Does it make more sense to do a status run in Feb 2024 to requalify for WP from SG (but needing 1400 SC) but having it for nearly 2 years vs renewing (600+ SC) it prior to 31st Jan 2024?

Same BNE to CHC return fights avail for a status run in Nov if you are looking to hold Plat...... but consider your following year as well to get the best long term value. For me the biggest value of Plat (and gold in second place) is the early access to classic reward (J) flights. So for me the choice of this year or next to put your status run against, I would consider your classic reward plans in the mix.

Hi all, I need about 150 SC, I'm looking for the cheapest way to do a day run from Melbourne. Any ideas? Taking advantage of the status double ofc, which i'll book in the next hour.

Day run you'd probably be looking at flying indirect via SYD to OOL or something like that. MEL-SYD-OOL return in Flex Y for example ought to do it.

I don't know if anyone is interested but was looking for return from Singapore in August and stumbled upon a rare First class rewards seat on a QF flight. I need two seats to I can's book it, but maybe someone here wants to jump on it for SC.

You earn SC on rewards flights right?

Only Points Club / PC+ members earn SCs on classic rewards.

TBH, the red eye out of SIN to SYD is probably wasted on F but obviously better than whY or PE!

Fair, I didn't even think about that. I imagine the bed isn't that much better than biz class bed

Nice find but not really good for SC. F at 102k for 54 SC vs J at 68k for 48 SC. 6 SC for an extra 34k is terrible rate of conversion (for reference SYD <> MEL is 8k for 7 SC on Y)

Yep, PC earn is skewed in favour of whY CRs but earning on F/J rewards that you’re doing anyway is still nice.

I find dom J CR is about par or better than Y. Int'l its a bit different but still in this case for SC the difference between J and F seem pretty big especially on an overnight sleep flight.

oh, I used the regular calculator which stated 180 SC.

I just now googled Classic Reward Status Credits and I see now I was off by almost 130 SC 😅

my bad, still learning. This has been educational though
