Have we got any WA posters who've done status runs ex PER?

I'd love to do one to bump myself up to WP but it seems like I can't achieve it without spending thousands, which I can't justify.

My existing travel will fetch me 647 credits, so I'll need to find another 380 during this DSC promo to bump myself up. Any ideas would be great!

Curious what status credit runs people have found - is the sub $3/SC still a thing (P1 for A$11,000?)

Thanks @RichardMEL - looking for actual costs and routes people have booked this year.

$4.16 / SC: 240SC for MEL-BNE same-day @$1,000. Platinum renewal for $5k, P1 for $15k.

$2310 for 480 Status credits for CBR-SYD-AKL in J : $4.44 per SC. I did pay $100 or so extra to get QF3/4 instead of a 737. MIght as well have a bit more comfort. This also requires staying in AKL a day or two, which I don't mind.

One concern now is my SYD-CBR flights which are currently a 717 and 737(seems odd)being subbed out for a Dash 8, which I imagine reduces my J class SC collection down to Flex Y. If that happens to one flight I'll just make it WP, both I'll fall short by 20. This is a week before my FF anniversary date. An extremely first world problem.

I'm a born worrier.

Many thanks! I guess the best SC earn would be LST-MEL-BRI-NOU and return? 40+60+60 SC's each way before DSC's factored in? If so then tempting in a way as that would leave me just 100 SC's short of WP.

Yes, you want the MEL-BNE leg if schedules/availability allows.
Cheers - will have to look into it - my QFF year ends April 30 and a lot of April is taken up with my by now famous Egypt trip.

Does anyone have any thoughts on DSC runs ex DRW? I have my eye on an open jaw DRW-BNE-APW//TBU-SYD-DRW but haven’t calculated the SC earn yet. Prices around $4000 for that. This is for my next year’s status as this year is sorted. Also I’ve not been to Tonga and have only transited Samoa

Hmm any good Dom CR routes besides SYD - CBR -MEL?

I think there was discussion about some before but I forgot which other routes are nice breakpoints.

Speaking of which, I might just try to book one of these to see if I can't find the a220.

Are there any good status run options starting in Sydney? I've noticed most of them start somewhere else and go through Sydney (often to NZ). I have reasons to travel to NZ, but I'm looking for something better than simply SYD-CHC on business. Thanks.

Depending on where in NZ you want to go, and when you want to travel.

You can find decent options between SYD and AKL, usually via BNE or MEL. Not as cheap as runs starting in smaller cities, but if you need to travel, then you might as well take what you can get.

Randomly clicking on J fares, I can find SYD-BNE-AKL return at around $2400, for 500 SC - that's $4.8/SC. Not ideal, but it's decent if you are travelling anyway.

I was considering going for P1 as I’m only 360 SC short. A return to NZ would bring twice that amount, but at $3,300 it’s not worth it. However, a domestic combination doesn’t quite earn enough. Any suggestion, please? I will have to fly next week, too. I can always fly from PER as a CR.

I’ll make WP again anyway with current bookings, so is attaining P1 worth the effort?
