A nd they are all AMEX points, I have 20 qan status points. Am I dreaming? Any hints to make my dreams come true

It is possible. But you will need to either book very early (like 11 months in advance) or very late (such as the last week before travel). You have the same opportunity as most other people to get the seats. There is no status-based waitlist for award seats as there is for upgrades.

So my tip list is:
  • Book early - award seats are released to QF FF members 355 days ahead.
  • Be flexible with dates and routing, consider via BNE, AKL, MEL, or even via HKG on Cathay Pacific.
  • Avoid peak business travel days such as Friday through Monday.
  • Avoid peak award demand periods such as school holidays
Good luck.
