Do Qantas keep notes on their frequent flyers?

Additionally to the "profile" there is a page where individual notes can be left by crew/CSMs.

I hope mine notes I love the La Grande Dame in F and on my next flights please board it!!!! :D :D :D :D

but doenst seem to ahve the depth of many CRM systems like SalesForce etc where you would try note down every single useful nugget of info (as shown in the post above showing what hotel's try and capture)

The type of iPad app does seem to vary between domestic and international no?

Qantas has actually partnered with SalesForce a while ago, not too sure what part of the business exactly for though.

Also the iPad app is the same for Domestic and International, just different flight numbers obviously.

haha! nothing I swear! :) I'm just curious as to what the cabin crew/check in staff etc can see about me...trust me it's all good! but i'm curious about the behaviour I often see in others on board!

Cabin crew only see what other Cabin Crew put in (only CSM's on Domestic flights). Check-in staff see nothing at all, even the managers on the floor don't have any systems or iPads to view peoples 'history'.

There is a Privacy act that covers Government agencies and businesses wih a turnover greater than 3 million (?). People can request to see information that is being held. From memory you had to be careful not to randomly collect info, it has to be info needed in the course of running the business. I am probably a bit out of date now, so it might have changed, but that is the way it used to be.

Once saw BA ban a top tier BA exec club member for refusing to follow crew instructions. He would not be able to make bookings on BAwhilst the ban lasted. He was offloaded too for being a safety risk (not drunk, just obnoxious and refusing to follow crew instructions)

Seems they are holding info that is deemed useful ........food allergies /preferences etc and as stated by others you can a)request to see info if you feel victimised and or your privacy may be compromised.
Like the Bali incident if you are really bad you will know about it .I think Qantas are mostly professional about the way things are handled from what I have seen anyway.Like any job dealing with people it can have it's
good and bad moments and may require extra patience with some but yes I hope they are not overstepping the line with tooooo much info????

It's aiming at personalisation and customer service but oh it could get very complicated with all the fads etc etc these days:confused: ......but yes some nice home made cider or ginger beer (we used to make our own back in the day.)
If Q partnering with woolies again maybe they DO need a few select brands LOL.As far as wine yes I guess a lot could be auto...planed in the system notes but they do not have one that I like to occasionally drink .I like the light fruity moscato type wines.Seems no can do on that one.

I am on an aero diet .......need plenty of up in clouds quality (meaning always first???class) time and on my way to another interesting cool:cool:destination.

not all. I do know some who do *not* drink alcohol

and I believe AustralianPoochie for one prefers cider :D

To use a term some of you might be familiar there's arguably a rebuttable presumption that we're all wine hounds. ;)

I imagine Mr AustralianPoochie is frequently disappointed while onboard.

Imagine a level of service where his profile notes he likes cider so a few bottles were always loaded on say long haul J flights. Not sustainable for a broad customer base, but perhaps a way of looking after the top 1%.

I recently had an FA look at their ipad and say "wow, you fly more than me!". So they obviously have some record of previous flights on there. Most of my recent flights were with CX as well, so maybe they can see that?

((teamhandsandwich can I be the first to say you have simply the best user name on this site))

I wonder if that's just a generic comment made to platinum/P1s to make them feel speshul.

Mine includes a note to call me by my preferred name, rather than Dr blackcat...

That's fine. they call call me by your preferred name OR Dr Blackcat ... while they top up my LGD!! :D

This would be a great use of the info they have on us to give that extra little bit for CL and say P1. too many WP's, Golds etc I think to make it work on a mass scale, but what a nice touch it would be if a FA discretly said to you "Oh, we have some X should you like it" - further, it could be generic - I mean I prefer a sweeter white wine and when all there is a is Chardy or Sauv Blanc (I'm looking at YOU Shaw & Smith!) then that's not my thing, but something like "We have a Rieseling if you'd prefer" might be nice, or something like that.

I'm sure QF could extend the special meal request stuff for stuff like this so catering could add such things to the bar for that flight or whatever.

Really this is the sort of personalisation the whole ipad profile type thing is clearly headed towards - or should be. Sometimes it's the little things that make you remember. They're not too hard to implement either. I checked into a hotel recently and they noted "Would you like a copy of X newspaper like last time?" and that was a perfect use of technology rather than "Which paper would you like in the morning?" airlines can (and some are better than others) at delivering on these kinds of things...

This would make F a First class experience rather than the current J meals with extras and extra space (perhaps a bit oversimplified but not much give how many dishes are on bith J & F menus)

I'm not sure what my profile says, but I would hope it says that I have a flight log book I like to send to the flight deck on every flight... unfortunately I don't think it does as I've never had a crew member proactively ask me for it. Would be a pretty special feeling if they did.

I'd be interested to see my notes - but I've no evidence there are any. Certainly my very consistent drink preference onboard has never once been offered proactively.

If I were to guess my notes probably say "prefers inconsistency at all times".

I guess I'd be curious too to know. For example do CSM's note things during flight (bad and good) or not bother or maybe only certain extreme situations, probably for a VVIP or something they may keep some notes. I couldn't imagine mine saying anything terribly interesting, if at all.

One would like to think, aside from things like preferred drinks and name usage, that other CS things related would be noted - either had bad delays recently or no meal or something, to attempt to make up for it, or even if you'd been proactive in feedback to QF on good crew or service or something.

There's a fine line I think specially if CSM's can enter personal notes that could be sujbetive and possibly unflattering.

I am happy enough at any rate that they know from the manifest if I'm connecting or not which should be standard (and usually is) and my status. Other stuff, in a way, is none of my business - no matter how curious I am :) (yeah OK, I'd love it if I saw "nice guy, not too demanding" or "mostly harmless" would do :)
