Do you discourage others from using QF?

Compared to my recent experiences in the US and elsewhere, while sometime painful, the AU airlines are going OK. I won't be discouraging people from using QF. AU needs to have at least one safe and profitable airline. Pushing our hard earned $'s to competitive overseas airlines won't help improve QF's on time performance and/or cancellations.

I respect the enormous amount of flying you do, but I don't think, on current trends, that there is much risk of Qantas not being profitable, is there?

Pushing our hard-earned $ to overseas airlines should push Qantas to better its performance on all metrics, to attract customers back. But while there are so many rusted-on lemmings (happy to pay megabucks for woeful service and amenity), and a CEO who has his final few bonus hurdles to meet, not much chance of that.

I've walked to Virgin and Qatar with a totally clear conscious, and I do encourage others to do likewise.

I totally respect the choice you have made - well done.

Let the laws of supply and demand and a healthy dose of customer sentiment drive customer behaviour as to what airline people. Some passengers may be sensitive to on-time performance vs price. For me Safety is at the top of my list. Given the amount of travel i do i am fortunate that the companies i work for are less sensitive to price.

I am also sensitive to the 30,000 employees that are dependent on a strong and viable QF for a job. While we may not agree with people’s choices wrt the airline they fly we should respect the choices they make for their own reasons.

I won’t be be encouraging friends, family and contacts to avoid QF. I will let them make their own choice and respect the choice they make.

I would never presume to tell another free thinking adult what to do.

I am willing to share my experiences if asked. My advise if asked would depend on the individuals circumstance, how often they flew, the purpose and urgency of the trip, what schemes they belonged to, if they had points to burn, if they were short of money, what level of comfort they are looking for.

I personally use different airlines at different times weighing up a number of different factors and use all three domestic airlines depending on the circumstance. (Haven't had the opportunity to try REX on the golden triangle, but avoid them where possible on regional routes where they price gouge)

I have used maybe 18 International airlines but do have a tendency to lean towards One World as they give me the best reach and connections and I can use my readily available and easily earnt QFF points, but not always.

Being dogmatic and saying I'll never use this airline or another due to an inconvenience now and again or shortfall of service (other than safety) would not benefit me one iota.
