Does anyone here actually collect amenities kits as a hobby?

I like to collect the amenity kits. I have a few different ones but don't travel premium cabins that often.

Some of the Qantas ones have gone to the in laws and relatives. As my daughter starts making friends these amenity kits make good presents.

Im going to address, "to me to give a cheap toothbrush is not really true charity"

Donating your hotel, airline toiletries frees up much needed funds for Shelters AND it gives the person using the donated item dignity. A shampoo, soap and toothbrush means a lot, when you dont have anything.

Im a big donator to Every Little Bit Helps. They have lots of collection points interstate or you can send to me (Ill send you a pre addressed express parcel) and I will forward them on (Ive got my own bag of goodies to send).

Very generous of you.

We too collect and donate to every little bit helps. For exactly the same reason. It is also worth mentioning that the amenities kits (and other toiletries) we donate are unopened . So not some second hand / used cast off .

I love the idea behind Every Little Bit Helps and plan to send them a package in the next week - it certainly beats trying to cram more kits into my laundry / bathroom cabinets!

That said, if anyone here knows of any local Brisbane charities or shelters that could use similar donations, feel free to point me towards them. :)

We delivered 4 wine boxes full of kits and toiletries to them a few weeks back

A work colleague of mine who flies international more than anyone on here has quite a lucrative side business and sells all their kits (doesn’t use anything) online / tells me they pulled in about 1000 last year!!

It is true, when you fly so much they all become meh even F versions / I never use them but gift them away to my family who love them.

All that effort for $1k - just give them away

We give ours to local op shop. But I know of cases where people buy them cheap from op shops then resell them through EBay at significant profit. EK F amenity kit I’ve seen on EBay for $100. Quite ridiculous.

Someone who travels "more than anyone on here"? That bothers to sell amenity kits? I think they are pulling your leg! :)

If the person is Scottish, maybe :)
