I'm a Qantas WP, victim of the loss of direct ADL-SIN flights. I've just joined up with KrisFlyer and booked my first Singapore trip via SIA - this time I couldn't spare the nearly 24 hours it was going to take me to get home via Qantas, but facing my first trip since the 90's as status-less ballast. I suspect this will be the first of many.

I had a status match from Virgin in the past, but their schedule and service meant that I've dropped back to a Silver with them, and having achieved one match I doubt I'll ever get another chance.

So my question is this - does Singapore ever status match, and if so where would I start?

Why not get a Turkish status match or sign up to Agean for the easy attain hurdle?

Or why not just fly CX or MH? that way you will still get the benefit of WP on domestic flights and WP benefits on Oneworld airlines

Long way round to SIN, CX would be via MEL and HKG - yuck.

Didn't see the SIN bit, I thought it was just general Asia travel.

KUL is only an hour flight to SIN, think of the extra SC's ;)

Maybe only an extra hour once you get there, 4 of the 6 flights arrive late in the evening in KUL, hardly ideal.

Thanks for the replies. I ran out of time to do anything about it, but will be checking with our travel team on my return to see if they can influence SIA at all (Fortune 100 company).

Apparently not, but the experience was good so I'll move my Asia flights over to Singapore while trying through our local travel team to see if I can get them to help.

Definitely a better Y experience than Qantas, but I missed the lounge access.
