Domestic flights from Melb/Syd international terminals

Sure, that would be one benefit of a JQ delay šŸ‘ šŸ¤£

I wonder, if travelling HLO, if the JQ flight is cancelled - say until the next day, would the JQ passengers who lets say is already in the FLounge, get to stay there the whole day? o_O
Had this experience too! Once the flight is cancelled (assuming you're in lounge), you're asked to go to the gate and the gate agent escorts you to Customs to be cleared.

But it ended up being cancelled anyway 8 hours before departure:

With the exception of the JQ website itself, all other sources (QF, SYD and MEL airport websites) are showing that JQ63 is again cancelled tomorrow... In fact the flight is still available for booking on the JQ website!

I'm booked on it next week (but not this week) so I'll report back on the options if it's cancelled...

Looks like JQ63 SYD-MEL is operating today. I received an SMS at 8 am that check-in is open even though departure time is 11:45 am. I was already on the way to the airport and there were no queues at 8:15 am:

Good op to use F lounge

Are there options to fly Mel to Syd using Mel international departures?

Earning SC's on Jetstar flight question please:
Looking to do a status run, if I book Max Y bundle MEL - MCY how many SC's?

My daughter flew MEL-DPS on Max Y and only got 5200 points.
Is there somewhere on the booking page that indicates SC's ?
Am I missing something?
Thanks for any tips.

I've done the domestic routing on JQ's MEL-SYD-HKT service (which I'm not sure if it's still operating), purely to have a stop in the Flounge. The flight ended up leaving four hours late, so we ended up having both breakfast and lunch in the lounge. We did start to get a bit worried that we'd be cancelled. As an experience I'm not sure it was worth it. We had to queue for a long time to be manually checked by immigration on departure and it was chaotic on arrival in SYD, with no signage or real idea of how to deal with the domestic passengers. I can remember arriving into SYD with the D sticker on my boarding pass a long time ago and the process was very smooth. Not all things improve with time!

Is the MEL F lounge even open for the 6am JQ flights? There are no QF flights at around that time. I know the website says open from 5.15am but the website is not always accurate.

It was open at 5.15am late last year (I had an 8am QF departure), but that wouldnā€™t give you much time before a 6am JQ departure if boarding commences 45 minutes ahead of the departure time!

Sorry to bump, had the best Sydney first class lounge experience with qantas Sydney to Brisbane from the international terminal many years ago. Flew business class A330 on points but was Platinum FF. Took my sister & her ā€˜infantā€™ to surprise her. No crying babys involved so no complaints.
