Been redeeming as we go.

Card needs to have money owing on it to claim the credit. You can’t put card into credit and redeem points. Won’t let you redeeem

I’ve always thought redeeming for cash or equivalent is terrible value but with this promo it gives J redemptions a run for its money for value so I’ve been redeeming as they’ve posted. We don’t know when we can travel again & I reckon all stakeholders will need to share the pain. Tried to do one more today but timing won’t work. I agree probably done now. Will redeem what comes through by Monday.

Bit more spending today.. Let's see how these transactions pan out come Monday

Hoping earn at 4.5ppd but won't be able to redeem at 1c which is fine

my sunday spending has confirmed today at 4.5ppd 👍

damnn forgot this ended on the 20th.
I held out paying a supplier until the invoice's due date today. Wished I paid them in advance!

Surprised that all Sunday spends posted properly especially with the lag lately

You are an optimist :p

any intel as to whether Amex will offer any promotion for the platinum charge members? It would be nice to even have the double cash redemption offer to use all the points

When I spoke to someone in the Australian Amex office recently I asked this question and he said he had heard that they are considering allowing us to use our travel credits for other things besides travel but that's all he said.

I think the last double promo cost them much more than they had budgeted. They’re unlikely to be so generous with future offers. I’ve lost track of my travel credits. Getting cash for them would be awesome particularly before the travel credit on Reserve is abolished.

That would be great if that is the case. I would love for them to just let us use the Travel Credit outside of Amex Travel and be able to book directly with hotels. Then they can Credit us back if they detect the transaction as a Travel expense for the Travel Credit.

Another would be to allow us to use the Travel Credit when booking with Fine Resorts and Hotels.

There's a similar sort of thing with the US card called the "Airline Fee Credit" but it's a bit fiddly, you have to nominate a carrier and it only works for extras, not for the fare itself.
Select one qualifying airline and then receive up to $200 in statement credits per calendar year when incidental fees, such as checked bags and in-flight refreshments, are charged by the airline to your Platinum Card® Account.

They've rolled out similar globally for Platinum Charge Cars holders, we have the same in the UK. They can afford to as they're not needing to shell out money for a lot of the travel benefits associated with the card like Priority Pass entries etc.

I'm downgrading mine still anyway as without travel spend, eating out etc. we're only spending a few hundred quid a month anyway so double points is worthless.

Well I ended up holding onto mine and glad I did.

Got 20k MR points to 'not cancel' it when I rang up to 'cancel'.

Have had 1x spend £100 get £100 back at Deliveroo, M&S, Waitrose and Harvey Nichols (redeemed in full)
Have 1x spend £400 get £400 back at Marriott.com (have a London staycation booked for next weekend that will use the full credit including breakfast and dinner for 2 on a 1 night stay)
Have another 1x spend £100 get £100 back this time at Deliveroo, John Lewis, Waitrose and Harvey Nichols which I may use on a new microwave perhaps, but I still have 2 months to spend that one.

The annual fee is £575 so at least I've 'got that back', albeit the Marriott one is spend I wouldn't have made but why look a gift horse in the mouth?

You may be across this but you can push the Marriott offer further
