Double SCs on eligible Domestic Flights and Double Qantas Points with Qantas Cash

I was happy to see my DSCs from flights from December and early January also posted this morning.

Same here. All three were run-of-the-mill paid flights:

I had the Std DSC applied at the beginning of my membership year in September and then this more general promotion.

Without these I would have just re-qualified for WP (or taken a MR to ensure last few SCs). With the promos, I'm now tracking at around end of April, which leaves me with a quandary: do I then switch to VA to try to bump up my Velocity Status? I've no chance of making WP1 so the only incentive for me is to boost lifetime SCs, but with year-on-year erosion (plus a CEO who continually derides the longterm prospects of the airline), I'm seriously considering my options. If VA offer status match, I know who my May-Aug flights are looking to go.

I'm probably not indicative of the majority who have taken up the offers, but I can't possibly be in the situation QF look these promos to inspire, but we find ourselves as a result of knee-jerk marketing actions and CEO statements.

just rang qantas and got maree, fabulous outcome and exceptional customer service. maree advised normally i'd have to wait 6 weeks however given it affected my status and she could see future bookings, she'd have her senior amend my status but would need to call me back... 13 minutes later she called and confirmed my points were posted and advised they had also changed my tiering to gold.

Yerse - it's a shame the CEO doesn't seem to have the same "client focus" as his staff! (and thanks RedRoo for all your input ...)

My DSCs posted today for the MEL-SYD (and return) part of my trip to BKK.

Now I'm hanging out for the Voucher points (9k) and the 20k for for the J sale trip to BKK.
 
Had to call up to have my DSC's manually added for some comfort J seats I purchased. This ticked me over to WP... so yay for me. The interesting note is the system didn't pick up the DSC's this time around for the seat I actually sat in (on Jan 4th). They couldn't/wouldn't manually adjust that seat as they said the system will pick them up. So will have to wait...
 
The Button must have been hit today by the looks of things!

DSC also posted for myself today which triggered a Loyalty bonus & now only chasing 435 SC until December to retain platinum.

Might chill out the status runs for a while.:cool:

I have spoken to Maree on the Phone before - I certainly got the impression she is well & truely on top of her job & is immensly experienced!

I've had a combination of both award seats & cash fares, but mostly JASA's in my case.

Hope they come through for you without any hassle.

Hi BD1959, it's very much personal preference. I wouldn't just fly Qantas *only* for adding to my LT status, and I wouldn't worry too much about any changes to the LT requirements. Qantas has said it has little desire to retool the numbers required (probably because it'd bring down hell on them, with angry QFFers lighting their pitchforks) - which makes sense given that status credits based on the mile charts haven't changed really.

Basically I'd say pick your flights on need (time, cost, etc) and attribute them to the relevant FF scheme.
