Wow I wish I was getting an offer like this, I might actually have a shot at making PS haha. But guess I'm not exactly worthy of these offers yet.

To get things like this do you need to be accepting email offers and such though? Or would something like this be sent to you no matter what your email preferences were?

I don't suppose the links people are receiving are generic by any chance? I would be guessing they're unique to each ff number (ie: so somebody couldn't just post one for us all to use.... ).

I briefly thought about asking. I'd sign up straight away if they were generic, but thought Qantas would likely be a bit smarter than that.

They are custom links, no generic.

Funny thing is i am so far about 580 SC short of Platinum this year (ending 31st July) and i got the double offer.... you bet i signed up quick, i was going to make Platinum anyway.

So signed up and i have the following trips between now and then...

MEL-SYD disc whY - 10 + 10
SYD-MEL disc whY - 10 + 10
MEL-SIN disc whY - 30 + 30
MEL-AKL J - 80 + 80
AKL-SYD (LA code share but QF flight number) J - 80 + 80
SYD-JFK F 360 + 360

Rather a good earn i guess That may end up being 1140 SC (+ a whole lot of other non QF flights)

I guess i may make PG this year as well.

I received a similar letter. I am Gold and on-track to re-qualify having missed WP by only a few points the last 2 years. Trouble is my big European holiday starts in July so no Wp again this year.

I'm a fair way past WP + PG so no point in Qantas sending me anything I suppose.

Wouldn't be useful for anything except bragging rights down the pub.

Remember, every 10 SC are worth 111.1 QFF points (nee "Loyalty Bonus").

On existing bookings alone, I expect to make an additional 3,889 QFF points

There is a generic link (qantas.com/doublestatuscredit), but if you weren't targetted, it won't register you.

I would have assumed they mainly targeted people who were a long way from WP, and see if thye can get extra business, i wonder if it was mainly people like me that fly international or also domestic people ?

I guess they could have not checked future bookings or they would have seen my J and F trips flights to NZ and USA would have easily made sure i was WP again.

Well, I had well and truly requalified WP 'til Oct '10.

See my OP - the email I received was spruiking PG, and while I did not have enough booked flights for the 2.1K that QFF may have been aware of, I certainly did when other airlines' booking are taken into account.

Also, I am a ~ even mix of domestic/international.

Judging by the way it seems to be working, either your original correspondence was "lost in the mail" or it is still coming . It is definitely targetted, and doesn't seem to be (easily) fooled

The closest to it, might be in serfty's post # 1. I think the important thing for you is that the flights are for QF flight numbers (doesn't seem to include JQ )

I tried the link when I got it a few days ago, and was a no go for me, so I guess you should have got something!

Yeah, and i just realised i need to have my AONE5 flight changed from AA code to QF code, can you do this under the change rules and not have a re-price ? QF seemed happy to re-issue the ticket on there stock with no re-validation when i wanted a change the other day to a last minute flight rather than call AA.
I had originally counted those 360 SC as in because i was on a QF flight, not thinking it was the one i gave AA to get my AONE5 booked last year.

I thought I would try and see if I could replicate your success. NO luck though, it just says:

Not that it would do much, but just wanted to see if it would work!
