Aaagh, I have to change a booking that was legit booked in the promo booking period....

I’m not changing the route or class just the dates of flight (within the promo period still) and PNR will not change either.

Any experiences so far if this scenario will credit DSC? Not life or death bit keen to know.

So I'm SG sitting at 1360 status credits, waiting on 40 of a total 80 sc's earned from a return flight taken 21st-25th march to come through (7 ish weeks ago) to go platinum.
Does anyone know how I'd go ringing up and requesting I be made platinum now, given that I'm just waiting on the delayed status credits to come through?
Good chance. I got most of my outstanding SCs credited recently but I sent email and I didn't want to deal with call centre.

You should be fine but may require follow up depending on whether the flights credit automatically or not.

Thanks for sharing - let me know how you go with the 30/4 dsc and good luck :)

Slightly ot. Anyone manage to grab the double points promo terms? Seems no dsc or double points have posted on flights taken after the it upgrade. I have multiple bookings impacted for family and myself on both promotions..

Worked for me, but only because I had upcoming flights for which I wanted to use the benefits. Details here: Double Status Credits (book by 5/2/18, fly 12/2/18 to 20/1/19)

Thanks mate!
So I got the MNL call centre they were bamboozled. After 4 HUACA's I got Hobart. The Zulu time thing affected my first booking, so they have sent a request for someone to manually credit the 40 sc's I'm waiting on. He wouldn't budge on upgrading me to WP, stating that it cant be done without physically having the sc's.
Wonder what the chances are of having someone look at it today being a Saturday :-(

**EDIT** Update
Stewed on it for a few hours and ended up calling back. Played call centre bingo a few times before getting someone helpful in AU. They manually credited the 40 SC's within an hour after the phone call! Which got me over the line to platinum. All thanks to this site!

I hate to bring in some unfortunate news, but here goes, from my experience, today:

I followed up on a small number of DSCs for an outbound segment of a return domestic GV booking from March, today, and was told after a long wait, and in no uncertain terms that the booking was ineligible for DSCs, as while the GV booking date and travel dates were good, the flight booking date was not. I had an inbound segment that had already credited on the same booking, and so asked why it was that this would have completed as expected when the other didn’t, and the indication from the ‘loyalty specialist’ was that it was due to the system not recognising that my GV booking was ineligible, that I was lucky it had posted, and that was the end of it... no DSCs would be manually credited.

We may well be running on fumes now folks. I have a few more GVs to use up, but they might just prove to be worthwhile for the still valuable purpose of saving the cc fees. To be continued, later in 2018...

Cheers,
Matt.

I just experienced a very similar scenario.
Return flight to NZ using gift voucher purchased during promo. Outbound flight received normal SC's, no DSC, but return flight credited normal and DSC within a few days. I called after a couple of weeks and was told to wait 6 weeks. Called back after 6 weeks and was told that the flight qualified for the promo and that DSC would be applied. Then I received an email the following day saying that flight didn't qualify.... I called again and after checking, the agent came back and told me that because the flights had been booked using a gift voucher they didn't qualify. He said as a goodwill gesture they were going to leave the already credited DSC in my account.
Interested to see if this becomes the norm with gift vouchers.

I wonder what would have happened if you'd pushed back referring to the original T&Cs that made no mention of GVs.

I doubt that would get very far. IMHO the change only clarified what the original T&C meant anyway. What was being relied on was a loophole that allowed flights which fell outside the published conditions to earn due to a technical implementation limitation.

It was good while it lasted, but you can't be justified in complaining that loopholes get changed, and the actual T&C are now enforced.

Yes perhaps I should have tried that....
I had a few pending trips but no firm dates when the offer came out so the promotion enticed me to buy a few vouchers and therefore direct revenue to qantas for the subsequent trips. If this is the new norm moving forward then obviously there is no reason to do that and next time I'll likely shop around.....

I disagree. There is nothing in the terms and conditions that gift voucher bookings are excluded from earning double SCs.

There is a reference that gift vouchers don't earn SCs but we already know that's true as purchasing gift vouchers does not earn SCs but flights booked with gift vouchers earn SCs.

The terms do say this:

This offer is valid when you register and make a new eligible flight booking between 12.01am (AEDT) 1 February 2018 and 11.59pm (AEDT) 5 February 2018 and travel between 12 February 2018 and 20 January 2019

The issue is about what date the "new eligible flight booking" took place.

For reference, compare last years language, and you might see a bit of a shift

The double Status Credits offer is valid when you register and make a new booking on an Eligible Flight between 12.01am (AEDT) 2 March 2017 and 11.59pm (AEDT) 6 March 2017, for travel between 2 March 2017 and 19 February 2018.

Wife flew on 19th of April and received normal SC plus a few days later the double SC's from the promotion. She took the return trip on the 30th of April and whilst the normal SC's have been credited, the double SC's haven't. The one thing different we did was to upgrade her on the return flight to business class using points. Would this affect the double SC promotion?

I see mentioned on this thread that there has been an IT upgrade which seems to have affected a lot of people but I am a little concerned as I fly on Thursday and have requested an upgrade to business using my points but don't want to miss out on the double SC's. We are also travelling in July/August on a Business class round the world fare which was booked during the promotion and have requested upgrades to first class using points on a couple of legs and don't want those upgrades to impact the double SC crediting.

Anyone had experience with points class upgrade and getting the double SC's credited?

19th is pre the it upgrade. 30th is after. This is the only reason the DSC havent posted, not the upgrading of the flights. I have 4 flights within the 30th - 5th which are in the same boat. Will require a manual call up in mid June.

Sorry, I think you are reading it wrong. There is indeed nothing that says gift voucher bookings are excluded, but the requirement is
make a new eligible flight booking between 12.01am (AEDT) 1 February 2018 and 11.59pm (AEDT) 5 February 2018
so making a flight booking in that period, and paying for it via a gift voucher (no matter when the voucher was purchased), or cash, or BPay, or having a TA make the booking and then paying 6 months later - all eligible.

Buying a gift voucher during that period - no earn. Making a booking using that voucher outside the period - not eligible. This has always been the meaning of those T&C, just maybe not what people may have experienced.

Yes it makes me ask the question. Is a GV an eligible flight booking made between the required dates as per the T&C ?. Yes or No. I think the loophole is very short lived and QF have woken up to it.

This has been discussed to death earlier in the thread. Can we move on yet?

So the difference is between "make a new booking on an eligible flight" or "make a new eligible flight booking"?

Sounds the same to me. Either way the terms and conditions at the time of registering are the relevant terms and conditions.

And so far we've only heard of 1 or 2 rejections here and there with the majority of postings positive. I'm confident I'll continue to receive double SCs and if I don't then that's not the end of the world either as I can use the gift vouchers on regular bookings.
