That's relevant for a couple of years ago but virals like tik tok have spoiled a lot of the 'hidden' stuff that can be discussed. Because once it's out there on such platforms the game is over. Thats ah, (not) progress for you. I made a similar mistake about Points club a few months ago. Rules of the FC.
In case anyone needs reminding, the Beem 'hack', which had lasted for years, died within hours of it going viral on TikTok.

One more question will the DSC trigger the 50 SC for every 500SC credited?
i.e. (one way DSC 280 + one way DSC 280 + 50 SC bonus = 610 SC or it will be just 560 SC)?

'Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward and Status Accelerator/Challenge earn requirements.'

No, they do not apply to Loyalty Bonuses SC's - only the actual flight SC's as per normal.

I'm aiming for a Gold status.
Anyone knows if my membership restarts end of September and I travel in September but get the double points in October, would they auto qualify me for the Gold or it's something I have to contact them for?

I'm not too fussed about earning SCs, but, I've got 2 upcoming flights to SYD from MEL in the next few months - they are classic reward seats.

I'm around 20k pts short of Points Club - I'd assume that if I cancel these (of course with a 6k pts cancellation fee pp) / re-book and if I qualify for PC in between now and then - these would come with double SCs (not much I know but hypothetically)?

They will automatically be added to your account, but it may take a few weeks to turn up (though usually they come through pretty quickly).

Make sure you select double status credits, not double points.

They will be added to your September balance and then they will disappear in October. Even if delayed to October. You might have to call if there's a delay in them posting but after the first month or so they usually arrive quickly.

Yes - eligibility in terms of earning PC/PC+ SCs is based on having that status at the time of the flight, rather than when you make the booking.

Thankyou :)

I should make PC by then (April) so I'd assume that I'd get regular SCs after those flights.

If I only get regular SCs (not double) that's fine too, as mentioned I don't fly much so status isn't high up on the agenda for me. Was just moreso curious.

Be certain you're registered for and talking about Status Credits (rather than points). DSC's will help boost status, but the double points (DP) won't.

And SC (and DSC) posting for flights, no matter when, credit to the membership year in which the eligible flight was taken. So even if DSC credit in October, they will apply to your current membership year, not the new one.

Just a note that it appears QF is still having intermittent problems with the registering for the promo. Had a fried tell me they couldn't just now, and I tried it via the website and yup, still problems. oh dear

If you book now during the booking promo period, you'll get DSCs on these flights too
