Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

Could someone tell me the most valuable runs to make use of this DSC. I am relatively new to this and am not ready to sink my life savings into it.

Well after what can only be described as an almighty all day long puck around I finally have a trip booked from DPO to Cairo and return - had to make three separate bookings to get it but finally I think it is done!

Many Many thanks to everyone that has helped with suggestions and the thought from @ShrinkWrapped that it might be a married sector issue - learning about married sectors helped enormously and resolved some of the big hurdles!

You may wish to consult the "Best Status Run" discussion and overview threads that are oinned to the front page of this forum for some ideas and pointers.

Not all prices have been "hiked" .. there are unchanged pricing on routes I usually look at and some opportunities out there imo. Yes, sales have dried up as per normal but I don't see huge evidence of "hiking" imo.
Syd > Hkg > Syd fares have not been hiked. Has been watching for a couple of weeks already while waiting for this "enhancement" to come along!

If you have no idea about it and are worried about the costs - might be best to not worry about DSC.

Do you have a real need for the benefits?

Will they provide you with a greater value than what you are paying?

Got home late and finally registered but I cant find any sweet spots for my usual travel weeks. Indirect routing to NZ now costs $400-500 more than direct.

Waiting to see if anyone finds anything decent.

I've been following five routes, waiting for the DSC to arrive. Two days ago, all of those routes showing D9 and I7. Today, all showing D0 I0.

This suggests a manipulation in inventory to drive higher fares being booked.

I do agree with this to a degree. I has definitely disappeared from a number if routes and flights.. but not all of them. Still there on some but yes there does appear to be some mucking with inventorygoing on.

Anyone who had a flex booking using an AMEX travel credit looked at rebooking for DSC? I guess you can't, because if you cancel for a refund you'd lose the credit and if you cancel for a voucher you're stuck with the original PNR?

A tip for the newbies - if you want some DSC goodness but don't yet know either dates or destination (or both) then book a Mt Isa to Cloncurry Flex Y for the start of February 2025 for $246 and then change that to whatever date and destination you want at a later date
