Probably not!Are there any good routes for fellow QFF'ers from Perth/WA? We usually get no love and costly $/SC runs :/

Can you explain how this trick work sorry?A tip for the newbies - if you want some DSC goodness but don't yet know either dates or destination (or both) then book a Mt Isa to Cloncurry Flex Y for the start of February 2025 for $246 and then change that to whatever date and destination you want at a later date
Never love for us over here!Probably not!
Oman fly daily to Jakarta.Ah OK cheers! RJ only fly to BKK(twice weekly) in Asia whereas Oman Air fly to BKK(x10 weekly), KUL(7x), MAN(5x), and "Indonesia"(4x) (doesn't specify which city in Indo for some reason). Its a pity that they don't fly into SIN too. No idea what their product is like but would expect that it would be pretty good.
You only have until next Tuesday 11:59pm to make a DSC booking - and the flights have to be taken between February 28th this year and 14th Feb 2025 - but you can change the booking online to fly on a different date with a completely different departure and destination city and make it a return or a convoluted multi-city or whatever you want. So you can just book a Flex economy one way from Mt Isa to Cloncurry for $246, and then in say September change it to a MEL-LAX-JFK and return flight - as long as you modify that existing booking it keeps the same PNR/reference number for the booking and that booking is registered for DSC so as long as your new flights are booked for travel before 14th February 2025 you will get DSC on them. The key thing is to make the initial Mt Isa to Cloncurry booking for early February 2025 so as it remains valid for as long as possible under the offer. Can you explain how this trick work sorry?
Good to know - suspected that it might be Jakarta as I couldn't see the Omanis partying hard on Kuta beach but its odd that on their route network page they say Indonesia instead of Jakarta.Oman fly daily to Jakarta.
Their J product is one of the best IMO but haven’t tried their Y product
Will you be forced to change into a Flex fare or higher, or can you still change into an economy sale fare?So you can just book a Flex economy one way
Think the highlighted should be 14th February 2025.You only have until next Tuesday 11:59pm to make a DSC booking - and the flights have to be taken between February 28th this year and 14th Feb 2025 - but you can change the booking online to fly on a different date with a completely different departure and destination city and make it a return or a convoluted multi-city or whatever you want. The key thing is to make the initial Mt Isa to Cloncurry booking for early February 2025 so as it remains valid for as long as possible under the offer.
There are probably other ways of doing things to also get DSC on flights later on that you don't yet know date & destination for.

I honestly don't know - I expect that you would need to book a Flex fare - I normally book Flex as I'm flying to the Muddle East and you have to keep your plans pretty flexible for there. Others may be able to answer your question better than I canWill you be forced to change into a Flex fare or higher, or can you still change into an economy sale fare?
Good pickup - no idea where June came from but it has been a long day...Think the highlighted should be 14th February 2025.
I wouldn't normally be so pedantic, but that's one that might lead to trouble for those unawares.Good pickup - no idea where June came from but it has been a long day...
Absolutely totally agree - could have caused a shedload of trouble - very glad that you picked it up!I wouldn't normally be so pedantic, but that's one that might lead to trouble for those unawares.
I managed to pick up a very good (for Qantas) sale fare from SYD-SIN in business over Christmas returning in the new year late this afternoon. Had been watching the fare for a few days now and had fully expected it to disappear with this promotion but it held.I do agree with this to a degree. I has definitely disappeared from a number if routes and flights.. but not all of them. Still there on some but yes there does appear to be some mucking with inventorygoing on.
Anyone who had a flex booking using an AMEX travel credit looked at rebooking for DSC? I guess you can't, because if you cancel for a refund you'd lose the credit and if you cancel for a voucher you're stuck with the original PNR?
Will you be forced to change into a Flex fare or higher, or can you still change into an economy sale fare?
Same here. I wonder what would happen if I registered for DSC via app, didn't get the confirmation email, then registered for double points via the website.+1. had no email. registered again via website just now and voila - email
(but note that it may or may not work?!)
Any of the usual booking channels is fine inc Amex, ITA like Webjet or whathaveyou. If you’ve got the DSC registration confirmation email, we can just use the website on desktop to book instead correct?
Very interesting choice to force people to select this on the app instead (and the app actually working)
Per T&C/FAQ the latest selection made would apply. I guess you can register 50 times with different options if you like (though in the app once selected it shows it, and I don't see a way to change it)Same here. Was kind of tempted to find out but decided not to
Yes. It is fine.Evening. I wanted to double check - if you book a Qantas flight through the American Express travel portal (I have a $450 travel credit to use) are you still eligible for the Double Status credit promotion (registered per app)? Don't see any reason why not, unless I have clearly missed a key T&C. Cheers
Sounds like you have done well!Had a hunt around and pleasantly surprised to get MCY-SYD-AKL and return, 480 SCs for $1,943 or $4.04 per SC. Fares out of OOL are usually slightly less than out of MCY. The very cheap fares via MEL for 560 SCs I can never find. Seemed to be plenty of sale fare availability and the fare priced lower than I got for the same last year.
Two nights QF travel insurance at $68 for 2000 bonus points looked worth while too.
Also dug up a PC classic award in J BNE-PER-MEL-SYD-BNE which probably isn't as good value but wedding anniversary in PER and PER-MEL in the A330 ensured Mrs Pineapple's enthusiasm. That should do me for today.
Happy hunting!
Cheers skip
only if you Change the fare - then yes, it switches overCorrect. There's no good option here.
My understanding is yes, you will need to book a fare in at least the same fare category or higher. As far as I know, you can book into business or first, too, which can work out perfectly well.
found those OOL - AKL fares on 19/7 and return 26/7Had a hunt around and pleasantly surprised to get MCY-SYD-AKL and return, 480 SCs for $1,943 or $4.04 per SC.
