Double the Fun [Double Velocity SCs, Book by 24 Nov, Travel by 13 Oct 2020]

Just took my first two legs from this promotion today. My DSC points posted, but my wife didn't receive double (even though we activated the promotion before booking on both accounts).

One flight was cancelled in December with Virgin cutting their routes, so we changed the other leg too to better line up the connection.

I still ended up with 1019 status credits, so should be platinum for the return, but I suppose I'll have to call to get the bonus SCs credited. This isn't the first time I've had issues with double SCs and cancelled flights. Virgin were very accommodating last time.

So fair call to expect VA DSC offer in coming days now that QF threw their's out yesterday?

QF sure doing everything they can to get pax flying QF metal, extending status match offer & now DSC offer.

Aggressive marketing, fair enough now that borders all open (maybe speak too soon re; today's Brisvegas case).

Ready to book couple flights so c'mon VA, give us some double action too.

VA2 aren't competing as much with QF these days so there probably isn't a pressing need to copy everything QF do anymore....

No, just a leisure traveler these days, work travel on hold for now, so happy to sit on Gold. Gives me a beer & toastie, ha!
Pay for few flights & use my wad of points for other flights. I never did the VA/Kris point swap, don't regret it anyway, was a nervous period back then ,ha!
Can get to WP with DSC offers, but not going to pursue it atm. thanks

True, although with both having Status Match offers in the mix currently, it could swing some one way as half the trouble attaining SC requirement with DSC.

Don't want to defer from thread title, but not sure how Rex going to go in short term with no loyalty program.
VA seem to match their prices with QF just little higher.
Many will book flights during DSC offers for next good number of months.

I'm not too sure they will in the very short term.

They're offering extensions for everyone who has status expiring this year subject to at least booking 1 flight.

They are offering a number of sales and think they will focus of price / value.

Come September time'ish I think they may.

I wasn't offered an extension option, but then again I'm a lowly Silver now and will drop back to Red after the end of this month. Mr J did receive the extension offer, but he was SG.

My partner fell into the no extension group as she upgraded to Platinum on the 4th april last year and I did wonder why she did not receive any offers for status extensions via email. So it was not till I read the terms after I booked flights did I realise. Not sure why they excluded those who upgraded status in the past year.
