I also got the DSC offer, I'm currently a RED status, I was SILVER until last month.

I want to try and make it to GOLD at least or more than half way there with this offer. What is the best way to optimize the status credits' I could earn? I live in Cairns

CNS - SYD - PER on flexis was amazingly good value when I booked 2 months ago, the return trip will net you 280 SC's with the DSC offer

I have flights booked through to end September except for July school holidays.

Same boat here, flights all booked so can't make much use of this one.

Might be of value to pool extra SC off to others. (though I haven't got the offer yet, only on some other accounts I was looking after for family - RED to GOLD)

I'd just discovered that one for myself, reverse situation. $820 return odd, $2.93/SC, through either BNE or SYD.

I just wish there was some way to get a long enough lay over to leave the airport for just a bit.. but the moment you try and break up the flights the flexi cost doubles. Shame.

I am Gold and have quite a few flights coming up also from the Dec DSC offer and they have offered DSC again for May & June , which just happens to coincide with my new status year .....which would have been great except the financial situation is not at its peak right now .....time to go away & ponder.

I received an offer today to upgrade from saver fares to J. with a corresponding Pts. cost table... (No DSCs or Double pts offer).

I re-qualified WP in Feb with my O/W J flight- MEL-HKT (200 X 2 =400 SCs) under the lats/current Velocity DSC offer.

For the punters, who have a DSC offer,maybe consider a MEL-HKT in J R/T and therbeby, bag 800 SCs and 4 VA sectors. ( You can pool the SCs).

There are some downsides..
Mainly, the 737-8 seats in J. Have found putting my rolla-board down gives me an acceptable foot rest that is otherwise absent on these birds for 6+ hours.
And the Thai lounge in HKT .....

As a WP I received the DSC but would much prefer the points. I have no chance of retaining WP this year even with DSC so will drop to SG (soft landing) so therefore would much rather the double points.

Needing 85 SC exactly to go Gold

Ex any eastern seaboard destination (have a free return flight to anywhere) so could get to the Ex city and back

Normally Ex SYD so this would be ideal



Looking for the best value making use of Double SC




EDIT*: Want to get as close as possible to 85 SC. As that will mean gold. But dont want extra SC's as I believe you loose the excess points when you level up?

Hi guys - long time reader, first time poster - thought I'd add to this as I have a useful data point to throw into the mix.

For the past 12+ months my partner and I (both SG) have done all our VA travel together - as such our status credits, review date (December), eligble sectors etc are identical, and all our upcoming travel is booked together. I have around 150K points and my partner somewhere <100K. We both need 370 to maintain SG and/or 380 to reach WP.

So today my partner received the DSC offer and I received the double points. Either it is a relatively random process, or where they have to split they are giving the double points to those with more points.

The only other possibility I can think of is that during the DSC offer in December I probably activated but never booked any flights, then again there's every chance my partner did too.

Not quite. The extra are still posted to your account, so if you need 85 but net 95 your balance will be 510sc, meaning you need 490 to hit WP. The extra don't count towards requalification to gold though, that balance resets to zero.

Sometime ago I was missing out on all the emails too.. In my VFF profile on their website I was ticked for all possible marketing/promo etc. I emailed velocity and they re-enabled it somehow and all the emails started coming through again!
