I've never used OLCI for Int flights - this thread has motivated me to start!

I think it is now a must to OLCI whereas in the past I only did it occasionally. I think you can get a boarding pass printed in most of the Hotels I use, and if not you ask for one when checking in the luggage. I won't take the chance whichever airline I am on, which for the foreseeable will not be QF who have dropped a long way down my list.

I hardly ever use OLCi for international flights if I am overseas.

I think the time has come now to change that practice. At least I will know about late aircraft substitutions as well as potentially saving myself from downgrades and offloads.

I hope the airlines, especially Q's server farm will be able to cope with the incremental load (and enhancements have not cut that capacity as well).

Only ever done OLCI for mandatory ones in Uk/Eur previously as often staying in units not hotels (and no printing facility).

In future - every flight OLCI at start of ability to OLCI 23hr 59m 59s - you never know and with 5 adults (> 12yrs) normally on the trips....

When the snow is always good you don't leave a day earlier than you need to - so staying another night is never an option as normally arrive night before school starts (or on occasions morning of school start - and they don't fall alseep until after school and unpacking bags is mentioned!)

I really hope that EmilyP or family have written up a dot point summary and have been in contact with the Qantas Company Secretary. <SERIOUSLY STRONG REMINDER>
Including a link to this thread for good measure.

Otherwise it is entirely possible that not one Qantas employee has been involved to-date, just consultants or contractors.

And if so, they have an interest in creating more work for themselves not decreasing it.

it.

Actually, no I don't think it's remotely possible that not one QF employee is involved in this complaint.

There are more than 740 posts in this thread, and this below is the best of them. Emphasis is all mine.

Please don't take this as criticism but if I understand things correctly regarding compensation on downgrades then IATA and Qantas are totally out of touch with reality.

If I can purchase an economy airfare today for $750 but choose to pay $3750 to travel in business then I expect to travel in business. If for whatever reason I am downgraded then I would expect $3000 to be refunded plus adequate compensation for the inconvenience.

Telling me $700 is more than adequate compensation and above IATA guidelines is insulting my intelligence. I don't care that the full economy airfare was $3250 at the time. I was never going to purchase full economy in the first place so should not be used in any calculation.

So by all means continue to oversell but don't try to make a quick buck out of it.

You said Qantas yield management gets it right most of the time. Great work. But when they get it wrong the customer shouldn't have to pay for it.

I must admit I wasn't going to comment suffice to say - wow. There are some very out of line posts in this thread and I really hope Qantas takes a good look at many of them and the posters details are added to the iPad.

If QF can't do the right thing on this they'll be needing a bigger memory card for that iPad !

I think that this thread is starting to look like a pro QF vs anti QF thread which is not helpful to the orginial poster who asked for help

I can't pick up on too many posts I'd call disgusting?

I've got more sympathy for the unfortunate couple that got shafted than I will ever have for QF in this sorry saga.
