BNE-SYD is a Cityflyer flight.

I thought so too, so the remark seemed rather odd to me. . . . . . such is the life of a business person travelling outside Qantas' "Business Hours" in the sky.

Hrmm at least there is one good thing in the Territory then...

Generally on the ASP - DRW flight that leaves in the evening (which is an all Y flight on a 717 and is not City Flyer) if your in the first couple of rows, or you know the FA (which is more often than not, cos DRW is a small town) they comp you the Wine

Nothing to do with the Territory, all QFlink services have comp alcohol in the afternoon :) in QLD and NT at least!

Qantaslink does have free alcohol in the evening (not sure what time it starts).

has been reduced though. Used to be minitures of wine, now it's cups from a bottle. Also beer used to be full strength xx_X and something like Tooheys New. Now it's xx_X mid and James Squire Gold (also a mid).

One wonders if the miners have caused this ...

I am fairly sure this is the case in WA.

Actually what annoys me on the CitiFlyer flights is that once the alcohol is rolled out then the soft drink disappears. Water or juice and stop whinging.

Well the soft drink menu has Coke Zero which I like and once that is gone there is only water. :(

I don't know who's worse miners or rigpigs!

I remember doing a charter flight from McArthur River to Darwin on behalf of Airnorth after their E170 had an unfortunate altercation with a ground vehicle at BME. This was the first flight I'd been on where I'd had to serve alcohol as I was used to doing the ADF charter DRW/DIL which was a 'dry ship' as the troops were on deployment. :p

Airnorth loaded on all the catering & I was wondering whether I'd make a pot of coffee or just make cups individually to go with the fruitcake - well I needn't have worried as once I got out of my seat it was on for young & old. "Bundy & coke please" & I'm looking at the lids of miniatures in the drawer of the trolley trying to decipher what was what & the bloke says with a tone of urgency "yellow top yellow top" like his life depended on it.

Trying to get down the aisle to row nine of the Dash8 was like Mission Impossible as I hadn't got beyond row 3 when the first two rows were ready for seconds so I had to lay down the law (nicely of course) & tell them they'd need to wait until I'd served the rest of their colleagues first.

Needless to say they drunk the bar dry - the soft drinks ran out first & you've got to admire the tenacity of one bloke with a never say die attitude who said "have you got any orange juice" - we did, & then said "I'll show ya how to make a canecutter"!

I used to call them "Bundy-Smoothes"

FYI James Squire Golden Ale has nothing to do with strength. it is a full strength beer. just like James Sauire Pale Ale..golden refers to the colour
