Drinks Policy on domestic

I do not understand it - why are there varying policies? You pay the same price for the same on the weekend or weekday but you do not get the same level of service? I think consistency is in the order...

FYI James Squire Golden Ale has nothing to do with strength. it is a full strength beer. just like James Sauire Pale Ale..golden refers to the colour

At 4.5%, I wouldn't consider it a full strength beer. At most it would have 1.2 standard drinks I think.
Edit: Apparently it is full strength according to the definitions. > 3.5% so Full strength.

Of what? the beverage? Or the colour pertaining to ablutions after consuming said sickly beverage?

along with Pale Ale i think James Sqiures and Little Creatures are two of the best breweries on the world.

i am a big fan of all australian locally brewed ales.

give it a try next time! doesnt hurt to stay away from VB or crown lager

and yes, the colour refers to the colour of the beverage

Ta - I am a big fan of JS beers, but not the golden ale It's far too sweet for my appreciate.

It was joy a while back in the old SYD F/L when they had "James Squire" during a promotional period. The Porter is nectar.

Anyway, this issue limits my options on QF flights.

I most definitely have to agree on the James Squire Porter. I was beginning to think I was the only one that likes it!! :)

I only like the JS IPA (Indian Pale Ale).

Personally I see no reason why Qantas could not serve alcohol on flights after 4:00pm everyday.

The Sunday evening flights are just as expensive as the Friday evening flights....

fair point! i am a big fan of pale ale too, but Golden Ale is lighter on the palate and more refreshing some times.

any way, i am just glad i can get non corona/heineken options on a QF plane..not complaining

I am almost opposite.
I rarely drink Aussie beers (just prefer my European styles).
My 3 fav at the moment are, Carlsberg, Stella or Heineken (all 100% imported of course;)).

If l had to drink an Australian drop at the moment, it would probably be one of the Matilda Bay brews ; Beez Neez/Bohemian/Alpha (rare to find and $$$ that last one). No matter what l do, I can't make Fat Yak palatable for some reason...

All this talk about beer reminds me of a conversation I had with a TSA guy in Vegas prior to our flight to JFK. I had to show my NT drivers licence, Amex card as proof of who I was as I hadn't yet been reunited with my passport which had fallen out of by handbag on an AS flight SFO/SEA & ended up in DFW.

He said "I've got a bone to pick with you Aussies about the word Fosters being Australian for beer". I don't know whether you'd call it putting a nail in the coffin or the icing on the cake when I said "nobody back home drinks that ****" which is probably what he keeps hearing & feels he's been given a bum steer.

Qantaslink does have free alcohol in the evening (not sure what time it starts).

has been reduced though. Used to be minitures of wine, now it's cups from a bottle. Also beer used to be full strength xx_X and something like Tooheys New. Now it's xx_X mid and James Squire Gold (also a mid).

Still miniatures on CBR-SYD as of last night, maybe for expediency. I didn't take note of what the beer options were.
