Drron's Do Disney.

After the Parade the oldies had a well earned rest whilst the young ones went and repeated some rides.We then made our way to the Contemporary hotel where we would be meeting up again for dinner at Chef Mickeys.
Sunsets hadn't been much this trip.Tonight's was probably a good one but unfortunately the building was in the way.

We had stayed at the Contemporary hotel when we first came to Disney World 35 years ago.The reason we stayed there was because the Monorail goes through the hotel and it has a monorail station.Our son was quite in to trains.

I really didn't think I was going to enjoy the night but it surprised me.It was a buffet but the food wasn't too bad.Salmon perfectly cooked as was the prime rib and reasonale number of choices.The experience with the characters was good.The only down part was the service for drinks and the fact you are compelled to pay an 18% gratuity.We booked as soon as reservations opened some months previously.You are charged then so they already had the tip.
But the night was for the grandkids and their experience with the characters.Some of the shots will be with the older members of our party.I try not to put full frontal views of the grandchildren.

Our girls wanted autographs of the characters.Our youngest granddaughter does hold back so missed a couple.One of the character minders noticed this and made sure she got the lot.Pluto seemed to have a little difficulty with this task.

We got back to the hotel after the fireworks and caught the last float of the parade of lights on the lagoon.

Our son and grandson went off to Hollywood studios the next morning as both are Star Wars Tragics.Thanks to our guides planning they had finished the Avatar ride and the 3 Star Wars experiences they wanted to do before lunch.
The girls though went to Animal Kingdom and loved it.
A chance for an easy day for us so back to Epcot as that is what we really have enjoyed over the years.

We started off going on the ride Living with the land as it has been there from the beginning.In 35 years it really hasn't changed that much.

So 35 years ago the focus of this ride on the future was Hydroponics.Today-Hydroponics.But an addition of tropical plants.

As before using the run off from the hydroponics for fish farming.

So now we walked around the World Showcase-11 countries featured.Previously there was a lot of info about each country.Now half do an audio visual presentation but mainly they are now the place for themed restaurants and gift shops.
The first going counter clockwise is Canada.

Scattered around are characters with lines of people wanting a photo.Always ends with the photographer taking your details from your MagicBand.You cant just walk up and have a friend or family member take your photo.Though with adequate zoom you can get the characters.

Cinderella was based in England.She was just recovering from cracking up.the fellow who had his photo taken just before this had whispered something in her ear.She laughed for 2-3 minutes uncontrollably.
I offered to buy this for mrsdrron-

I have lived to tell the tale.Some Christmas decorations in one of the English stores.

It is a pleasant place to relax and whizz around the world.

We now arrived in France-

Now we were feeling a little hungry as we hadn't had any brekkie.So we walked up to the restaurant in that last photo.No reservation but they were due to open in less than 5 minutes so we were able to get a table.As we were in france it was a glass of Sancerre and one of a Burgundy.

I started with a lobster bisque-I was having the special 3 course meal.I then had the beef bourguignon-could have done without the pasta.Mrsdrron had the duck.

All were surprisingly good.For desserts mrsdrron had the Creme brulee whilst I can never go past a good tart.The apple variety today.

.

Also good service.When asked if any problem foods and mrsdrron said she couldn't eat chilli or bell peppers the chef came out and discussed it.He had a bigger problem with the couple behind mrsdrron who suffered from classic ADD-American Dietary Dramas.
So quite happy with the value at a cost of ~ $US 100.

Now as any good AFFer would do we are off to Japan via Morocco-

There was a female Taiko drum trio.Pretty good.

Then a display of Japanese modern art with a little bit of old stuff.

As expected there was a nice Japanese garden.

Then it was off to the USA and their Christmas tree.

I sat down and waited for mrsdrron.This fellow was not at all bothered by my presence.

In the US Pavilion was a typical Disney presentation with American history narrated by Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain-

Then a quick trip through Italy-

to Germany.

Unfortunately the trains were not running as it had been raining.
