@oz_ally IMHO you should have received 80 status credits. Perhaps call the Velocity Membership Contact Centre and ask?
Yes that's what I thought too - I'm going to give them a call because I have 2 x more ROK-BNE Business return flights coming up and I don't want to miss out on 30SC. Not the end of the world I know but it all adds up. Thanks @Mattg

EDIT: well just got off the phone with customer service. They said it was a Business Saver fare. IDK I am pretty sure it was Business I booked but oh well maybe I am misremembering. I would have thought that the ticket would state Business Saver but as I said not having flown that way before I don't know what it says on those tickets. nvm.

@oz_ally and @Mattg, Business Saver fares were 'offered' prior to 19 August 2021 before VA restructured their fare offering. So if your booking was made before that date, it is likely the trip was booked to the 'I' fare bucket given the discounted price and the 75SC awarded seems to be correct.

Dear All, I've got a question.

I have an upcoming J booking on VA (booked early Nov'21, so the 45% more SC on J applies).

This is a points+pay booking for 2 adults, SYD-MEL-LST-HBA-MEL-SYD, 320 SC/pax. Now, for work reasons, I most likely won't be going on this trip. My mate can. I called up VA and asked if it's possible to remove me from the booking and retain my mate, so that she can travel. The agent said it was possible. My portion of the points+pay can be refunded or retained as a credit.

I'm happy to retain it as a credit, IF (and this is a BIG IF), I'm somehow able to retain the credit with the 45% SC offer attached to it. This means I will be able to re-use the credit at a later date and get 45% more SC on J seat or DSC on a Y seat. Anyone has any info if this is possible?

It didn't occur to me to ask this to the VA agent while on the phone. Thought I'd ask here.

Oh, and btw, my mate is pooling to me - not that it should matter in this case. Just putting it out there.

Acknowledging this is not based on any review of T&C's, I'd highly doubt that the use of the credit down the track would attract the same conditions as when it was originally booked.

Extended to June 2022:

We have extended our bonus Status Credits offer to help you maintain your Gold Status beyond 2023.
Earn bonus Status Credits on all eligible Virgin Australia flights when you book and travel by 30 June 2022. You'll earn up to 100% bonus Status Credits in Economy and up to 45% bonus Status Credits in Business, regardless of when you booked.
Just received an email from VFF similar to the above but it was made to help me maintain my Silver status (interesting no year was mentioned in my email).

Between this and the QFF status extension, I think I will be set for most of 2023.

Have a Darwin J trip booked for June with family pooling & the DSC offer way back, so this will def give me few extra SC's, will likely get to gift Gold at some point now.
Pity my return trip is in July.

Guess this answers few peoples request in what extra will VA do to assist status holders. Shirley all state & international borders will be good & freely open to travel from 2H 2022.

Have to say that while I like Velocity, QFF murders it as far as status protection is concerned.

QFF has effectively gifted me Gold status to 31 Aug 2023, while Velocity has gifted me virtually nothing (they want me to pay for 400 SC's to get there.

So, what do I think? (PS, I'm not a Plat).

I'm WP with Velocity until 28 Feb.

With enhanced SC earn and competitive business class fares, by end of April I'll be WP until February 2024 for a lot less than similar travel on Qantas would have cost.

400 SC is a cinch to get right now to be honest. Am booking a domestic fight to a very interesting destination tomorrow for $718 a person, that will give us me 400 SC via partner's pooling.

And being in CHOICE fare bucket, all totally upgradable with our free Plat Certs as a bonus.

Yep, will be easily requalified within a couple of months and most likely get to gift a couple of Platinums along the way.
Would be nice if they do decide to introduce a new level though

Aren’t they supposed to be unveiling the replacement for ‘The Club’ by the end of this month? Or at least that was the commitment… Could they stick with invite only or turn it into a QF P1 equivalent?

This sums it up! This appears to be designed to entice more to the gold level and then existing travellers who need to travel will earn enough to gift status.

If travel does resume to pre-covid domestically let's say Q2 2022, does there become a point where there are too many status holders in the context of the current program and it's tiers?

United for 15 years or so have had an invite only level of 'Global Services 1K' which a normal 1K (Virgin Plat) on super steroi_s!

Based on your SPEND .. they do not care about SC or segments or miles flown per se. Last rumour I heard was $US75k a year or about $A100,000 a year.

GS members get their own phone line that actually answers on a couple of rings, (was on hold to Virgin Plat line an hour Tuesday, and 40 mins today) with empowered US based agents who can do the impossible.

Force inventory on sold flights, force award inventory, either clear immediately or get top P1 priority waitlisted any upgrade request, and so on. Have agents meet you at gate for IRROPS, or tight connections etc. Spend 100K and you deserve it!

I had a long wait today as well which to be fair is very uncharacteristic. I presume the floods are having a big impact. I was still answered within 10 minutes.

I bet it was not evening you were phoning. Hour waits seem usual for me anyway.
