Guess there is the answer you were looking for, @MattA :) Good luck with the double dipping

Yep. That will be fantastic if it turns out to be the case. Thanks @MooTime and @Ade

Family of 4 in the old J Saver flying MEL - MCY, I make that 1520 SC all up (new base of 95 SC x 2 legs x 4 pax x 2 DSC). Wife and I both have enough eligible sectors so I should be able to get myself to WP and her to SG (from Red) if I switch the family pooling her way for the return leg. Very happy with that.

It matches the reward zones when redeeming. Zone 1 is 0-600 for a reward ticket..

That is correct. I just notice that it's not how Qantas does it for Points Club members. (The usual earning zones still apply with QFF.)

I was on phone to VA on Friday, after resolving an issue, I did ask about the DSC offer & the new bonus SC offer, the lady checked with someone & told me that yes I will get the DSC on my flights at the increased level on this recent offer. She specifically confirmed I will double dip, used those words.

MEL-OOL J so gone from 70SC per sector to 105SC, decent jump on DSC & 3 return pax on Family pooling. 420SC extra, instant WP status.
Now to be able to enter QLD by late Nov, may have to move the trip.

The DSC terms & conditions specifically state though that:

The Bonus Status Credit offer is only applicable to the Status Credit earn rates correct as at 02 August 2021.

I guess we'll see how it works in practice. If you do get DSCs on the higher earn rate, then great. 🤷‍♂️

…and I’m sure we‘ll see peeps having fun finding creative ways to max burn/earn combos as border walls come tumbling down!

I have booked return tickets for travel in Jan 2022 from MEL - CNS ; the booking was made with future flights credits. My question is if that would be considered revenue ticket or reward ticket and if I will be eligible to get the bonus SCs.

On other thought , as it's extended till Feb 2023 , do status credits make any difference even to the status as they expire in a year ? It's been sometime so getting my head around it .. cheers

Not quite sure how it was calculated but got 155sc on a DSC J booking CNS to BNE

Was it a Business Saver fare by any chance? That's the only way I think you can get to 155 SCs:

CNS - BNE is 865 miles, which puts it in Zone 2.
Earn rate for Zone 2 J Saver prior to Aug 19 when the DSC offer ran was 60 SC.
Enhanced rate for Business Saver fares under the new offer is 95 SC.

So they've given you the new base SCs under the latest promotion, plus the second set of 60 bonus SCs you would have got under the DSC offer. 95 + 60 = 155.

So, sort of double dipping -- not quite double the 95 SCs offered under the latest offer, but better than either the 95 SCs under the current offer or the 120 SCs you would have got under the original DSC offer.

They'll only make a difference if you're trying to get from Gold to Platinum (or if you weren't eligible for the auto extension to 2023). If you're already Platinum then any SCs earned before the 1 year extension kicks in will expire before they are useful for requalification.

Yes, that makes sense, thank you. Not quite double dipping but I didn’t actually expect it would be double the 95 SC.

I took a return flight from ROK - BNE last week in Business that I booked before the new fare structure although according to that linked Bonus SC list I should get 80SC each way if booked before or after the 19th Aug.

Anyway my whinge is that I only got 75 each way?? I deffo flew Business and not Bus Saver as there wasn't any of them when I booked. Business was only $199 each way which was a bargain compared to Flex at the time. Has anyone else flown that or similar Zone 1 route and had the same happen? Just checking here before calling up VA as I may have worked it out wrong. Here are some screen shots: Thank you for any help 😻 Screenshot 2021-11-03 165501.jpg

The fare basis indicates it was an 'I' fare, which was Business Saver. (and if it was cheaper than Flex, then it probably would have been a saver)

Thanks for that - I couldn't work out all those letters. There have been quite a few Flex dearer than Business lately from ROK-BNE & return. I could have sworn that the Bus Saver option was greyed out though 🤔 Looks like I was wrong 😏 🙄 😂

EDIT: I've never flown Bus Saver before - if it is a BS fare do they just class it as "Business" on bookings? I found a screenshot from when my friend and I were booking and checking with each other that we had the correct flights. This was before we went through and paid obviously. But it is the fare we eventually chose. I'm just curious - not still whinging over 10 SC 😂 This was booked when the CRV59 code was still working - full fare was $199.

@oz_ally IMHO you should have received 80 status credits. Perhaps call the Velocity Membership Contact Centre and ask?
