The feedback that the seller has received is all positive, but he/she is relatively new (<20 feedback profile). Previous ticket purchases have been made by eBayers with significant eBay experience (eg one of the buyers has >1,000 positive feedbacks), so from an eBay perspective (I'm a long time user - over 500 trades), it seems legit...

Unfortunatel mbeder, Legitimate and Ethical are two totally different things.

Mrmaxwell.
Not sure I would risk the money personally, however if you do, then good luck and please let us know how you get on.

There is a new competitor to the 1/2 price seller:

The Amex "Free Flight" seller:

QANTAS Return air ticket Perth to Adelaide, Syd or Melb - eBay, Other Tickets, Travel, Tickets, Travel. (end time 03-Mar-08 11:20:48 AEDST)

(At least they can only do it once per year!)

How do you know they're an Amex reseller? Based on the routes, the change fees and the unusual conditions term of "once fulfilment process has migrated to Qantas.com" (which is an Amex specific Free Flight reference they make in the T&C's).

eBay have shut the seller down...

This listing (110174699718) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number.
If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it cancelled. Note: Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay.

OK - Ive got 300K spare frequent flyer points for sale - lets start the bidding at 2 boxes of Heineken....

The link in post #46 is still valid and the auction still functional :!:

The auction has ended with a winning bid of $455! Do the terms and conditions of the Amex free flight allow it to be booked in a name other than the credit card holder?

I am not sure why anyone would spend that amount of money on a QF ticket that does not earn any QFF points or SCs. I don't know what route they would choose but I have seen DRW-SYD return during specials for ~$418 and PER-SYD for ~$458.

Yes

I agree in principle JohnK though I must point out that the points and SC's do post on most occasions.

I suspect the poster was referring to the link earlier in this thread.

With the free flight you get with an Amex Plat card (if you can call it free after spending $395 for the card) you do get points and SC's for the flight. I am not sure about my last flight, but think it booked into O class.

According to the T&C of the free flight, you don't get SC or FF points. If you happen to get them, consider it a bonus.

I guess I was just lucky, and this was before they took Perth out of the free flights. Here is what my QFFF activity page says:

QF 580 ECONOMY 07MAY07 PERTH/SYDNEY 2,041 - - 2,041 20

QF 575 ECONOMY 04MAY07 SYDNEY/PERTH 2,041 - - 2,041 20

10,000 FF Points are being auctioned on Ebay, don't reckon they will last
for long before they are pulled. Starting price of $150 is a bit rich.

It appears the seller got cold feet:

The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing.
The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale.

Hmmm. Methinks Qantas was quite quick in advising the user of their rules :)
