The only pattern I've found in the waitlists I've done is that clearance of waitlists appears to be random.. Some clear, some don’t. If they do clear, it can be weeks out or the day before. Assuming you have enough points, you can always book the economy option as a backup and just cancel it for a $30 fee if your business waitlist clears.
